So I was learning this part on Black Rose Immortal up to the 16 and half minute mark, and everything was fine, so I decided to play along to it...and at about the 13 minte mark or so, I for got what was between the part I had just leaned and the 13 minute mark...I hate when that happens.
/felt like pointing it out NP Death - Bite the Pain |
haha just keep playing with it, it'll all fall into place. :thumb:
|
Yeah, I know. I'll keep playing that part so it will stick in my head.
And thanks for the Death song. I realy like it :) |
Anytime :)

Harvest is really fun to play on guitar. So are For Absent Friends and Patterns In The Ivy.
|
Patterns In The Ivy II is really fun to play also. Great chord progressions on that song. It's almost impossible to play and sound good without a Capo though.
|
Blackwater Park is a really fun song to play. So are Deliverance and The Moor.
|

I've been looking all over the place for that tab, I never knew what fret the capo went on. |

Don't forget ending credits. NEVER forget ending credits. |
I was just trying to learn BRI on bass. Some of the parts are pretty complex and crazy, but a lot of it is fills and stuff, not that hard to get down. It's a fun song to play.
|
Do you have a good tab of it? If so, could you give me a link?
|

Just play it in a different key if you don't have a capo. |

Nah, I was just figuring it out. I could use a good tab too though. |
Gah! first of all OPETH ****ING SUCK!!!!!!!!!!! I agree with you axe of darkness! And martin is a complete ****! i love his drumming on the demo's STTNW and OSFTGH but what kind of ****head goes from the best band in the world to a gay pansy flower band such as OPETH??? And anyway Fredrik's drumming on A Canorous Quintet is very similar to the drumming of early AA anyway. So thats why he kills Martin.
Looks like this guy is just pissed off because Martin Left Amon Amarth |
Have I ever metioned how much I hate the name of this thread.
I am excited, I bought my Opeth ticket and I was trying to get a mate to come along. He usually likes good R&M and in his words as long as the tunes are kicking he is happy. So to try and get him to come I lent him Lamentations. He really like it espically the Damnation set. We needed something to play for music and he said he wanted to play Windowpane. So I am excited. |

Hey! I came up with it. |
I've always liked the name of this thread, I'm glad you'll didn't make it lame by turning it into "Look Your Last Upon The Thread," or something like that.
|
I like it...it's got a nice ring to it.
Best Opeth riff ever = opening riff to Master's Apprentices. SO much fun to bust out in school hallway after Les Miserables pit practice. |
Come to think of it, that song would sound pretty nifty rearranged and played by a symphony.
|
It would. Maybe I should slip it into everybody's book...*shifty eyes*
|
Well, I just downloaded and heard The Twilight Is My Robe for the first time. I must say, it's pretty amazing. The growls are incredible, I'm definitely going to buy Orchid in the near future.
|
w00 !
Have just been trekking around Perth today and saw Morningrise, My Arms Your Hearse, Deliverance, Blackwater Park and Damnation in 78 Records.. and Orchid in JBHifis! I get paid in two days. I have Still Life and Ghost Reveries already. I have heard every Opeth album.. but I have hardly heard Orchid and Morningrise since a 'mate' (heh) of mine has had them for months! ;/ Which one should I get!? I'll probably only get one for now, I need to save for my Opeth ticket. ;} *ravenously drools* |

That was the first non clean Opeth song that I heard, it is pretty amazing, the acoustic section that comes on halfway through the song, and then the clean solo. Incredible music. |

But for your situation I would reccommend Morningrise if you want early Opeth, Blackwater Park if you want to hear Opeths most popular album, and Damnation for their quieter side. Good that you have Still Life, thats their best in my opinion. |
Yeah, Twilight is My Robe is an amazing song.
|
Are there any other Opeth fans in here that are amazed by "A Fair Judgement"? I think that has one of the band's best guitar solos ever.

Yeah, I love it... I am so sick of Deliverance right now though. I listened to it way too mcuh |
Yeah, Twilight is My Robe is an amazing song.
First song of the "old" Opeth I heard. Great song. I've looked for the powertab of that for a long time and came up empty... |
This is a pretty good cover of Masters Apprentice...it´s a video of some guys playing it at school.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4153372561067572007&q=opeth I think its a good cover, their singer is good. |
Yeah, it was posted a while ago...
Good stuff, indeed. On a side note, I'd like to make notice the fact that the album I'm PLANNING to buy now is Deliverance, since Still Life... well I can't find it anybloodywhere I look for it. However, I may be dissapointed by the lack of attention to the lyrics, the incredible drag-on and the über-repetitive riffs at times... but I'll try and getitgetitgetit. |
