I don't even have a record player. I'm so not-indie.
This will most likely fund my drug use and the ridiculous number of really good shows in Philadelphia in the coming months that I plan to attend. Battles is 21+. I almost cried. |
that sucks. yeah i dont have a record player either.
and my vinyl collection consists of The Police - Synchronicity pretty bangin collection if i do say so myself |
hah. Nice. I don't even own any cds I like. I haven't bought a cd since I was in like 8th grade.
I listened to some seriously gay music in 8th grade. |
i listened to THe Offpsring and Korn and thats about it
|
Yeah, I liked the Offspring. I was pretty into pop-punk and some radio rock. I think Brand New was one of my favorite bands at that time. I'm not really embarrassed much about that one because they make really cool music (except their first album wouldn't appeal to anyone here - it's still nostalgic for me).
|
I'll probably blow my rebate on vinyl.
|
bangbus is so good
|
When I get my tax return in July I'll probably use it to buy an amp.
|
id like to get a half stack
|
i did because that chick had a really ugly face. like a retarded baby. but whoever gave you a new one wisely chose a pic without the face, so good for them
I guess it was just that picture because she's not ugly. I was trying to change it for like a week, but nobody would do it in R&M. |
id like to get a half stack
I can't see myself ever needing a half stack, but I'd definitely buy one if I found a good deal. I think I'll probably get a combo, probably a 50 watt. I like the look of Traynor amps. |
Imo, the only good thing about a half stack is the angle/height it sits at. With my 2x12, I have to sit it on other ****, to hear it "correctly".
|
Can't you angle it towards your ear?
|
Yeah but it's a pain in the ***.
4x12s are perfect height for me. But I don't want to have to haul that **** around. |
So ticketmaster just totally ****ed up my radiohead ticket search and now I'm probably going to get the most shitty seats in the whole world.
**** it, A&I :( |
I went to this Irish pub last night, and everyone I knew from my high school was there. Most of them I didn't expect* to see again after I graduated
*want |
Yeah, that's uncomfortable.
|

i have like a 50 watt and it isn't loud enough |
What amp is it?
|
I have a 30 watt and it's plenty loud.
I used to use it when I was in a band. |
What amp is it?
nvm its a 40 watt some Peavey transtube amp |
Ah solid state. Tube amps are way louder.
|
well its not really solid state but not really tube either i guess
at about 5 or 6 the sound starts to break up and gets kind of choppy it's annoying because with bands i usually play at that volume or higher |
is it old?
|
I've got a huge *** Crate amp. 120 watts. But solid state amps sound kinda crap.
|
is it old?
no. |
I remember buying my amp and knowing next to nothing about them. I went into Guitar Center and was like "I WANNA ROCK!" and my Dad said "ROCK!".
That's why I ended up with a gigantic Crate amp. |
ive played one of those big crate amps
they're okay if you want to get some like stale thrash metal sound or something |
Exactly. But I want to play sweet doomy riffs brah.
|
I play a 120 watt Fender solid state.
I dunno, I like how it sounds. |
i dont want a real tube amp because that would involve maintenance and replacing tubes and ****
|
I should have gotten a tube amp because my band has been playing more shows lately, I prefer the more portability of my solid state. I really don't notice a huge difference in the sound when my pedals are hooked up to it, and Fender's solid states tend to be better than most other company's solid states anyways.
Plus, it wasn't incredibly expensive like some of the tube amps I was considering. |
Sweet I'm seeing Radiohead on May 11.
Anyone here ever listened to the Mike Watt from Pedro show? It's his radio show, it's got a bunch of cool interviews with Wayne Coyne, Lee Ranaldo, Nels Cline etc. There's a podcast of it on iTunes. |
does anyone else think this song ****ing rules?

I remember one with Steve Shelley on it, that was cool hearing him speak about all his influences and whatnot. |
I used to listen to it like 2 years ago.
|
He played some cool jazz music on his show.
|
He always opened with a John Coltrane song.
I remember him playing lots of Melt Banana also. |
That's how I first got into Melt Banana.
On DorkRockCorkRod by the Ergs!, there's this cool tidbit from his show after he played their song 'Obligatory Song About Killing One's Boyfriend', and Mike says something like, "Enough of that Obligatory stuff, It's time for brother Matt Spin Cycle!" It it plays this repetitive sample over and over again for like 2 minutes. |
