123. Ray please fix it.

Riva 06-22-2005 10:28 PM

Quit your whining, all of you. I had a great day today, and I plan on continuing this "great day" trend. Also, Lochness is a great song.

10. Lochness

Grey mist drifts upon the water
The mirrored surface moves
Awakened of this prescence
Dispelling legends proof

A beastly head of onyx
With eyes set coals of fire
It's leathered hide
Glides glistening
Ascends the heathered briar

This legend lives
Through centuries
Evoking history's memories
Prevailing in eternities on and on and on

Lochness confess your terror of the deep
Lochness distress
Malingers what you keep
Lochness protects monstrosity
Lochness confess to me

Somehow it heeds the piper
From battlements that call
From side to side it ponders
Impassioned in the skirl

This highland lair of mystery
Retains a lost world's empathy
Resiliant to discovery on and on and on

This legend lives
Through centuries
Evoking history's memories
Prevailing in eternity
Your secret lies safe with me

This creatures peril from decease
Implores to mankind for release
A legacy to rest in peace and on and on and on

Got anything on the net?

I'd like to check it out.

Illmatic 06-22-2005 10:29 PM

The link works for me, guys.

lunch998 06-22-2005 10:29 PM

Maybe, let me check.

Blah, so far all I found was this lame painted self portrait of me (no, I don't have a shirt that looks like that, I just felt like doing it). Also keep in mind I do suck at painting.

I wasn't whining. Bitch.

Why was your day great?

ATM 06-22-2005 10:31 PM

Also, Lunch.

Thanks for Tommy. I listened to the first few tracks, and I'm digging it so far. Now I need to pick up the movie. My dad hasn't seen it either, but said he wants to watch it as well.

I think The Doors are growing on me. I was singing 20th Century Fox all day, and now I can't get back door man out of my head. Take it as it comes and Lov me two times were also great.

Decent stuff from about half a year ago.

Actually nevermind, that isn't that good either.

I've never really taken the time to get into the Doors, even though I should. There's way too many bands I need to check out/look into further.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-22-2005 10:34 PM

Can someone tell me how to do a screenshot? Madey is trying to tell me, but she's a girl and stuff. :-/
I wasn't whining. Bitch.

Because I haven't had to talk to you all day. :)

No, I'm incredibly in love, and I have tons of good things going my way. I think that my sanguis is high today, and my melanchole is very low. Of course, Hippocratic philosophy means that I should actually be unwell.

Mike: Nice artwork, man. Really great.

Jake: Press alt and prt scr which should be near the Insert/Home button.

ATM 06-22-2005 10:35 PM

Hit print screen.

Then paste into paint.

Viola.

Dames ain't smart like us guys.

Don't you have to do a print screen and then copy/paste into Paint or something?

I hear that.

Don't be so hard on yourself, I like these.

I want to do stuff like this, but my teacher wants everything to be as "realistic as possible", so she kind of takes the fun out of it.

Yes. Just hit print screen, then ctrl c, crtl v it somewhere.

Edit: Lunch, that was great! Too bad I forgot to take my drawings home from art class.

lunch998 06-22-2005 10:37 PM

The problem is that with AP art class, our teacher makes us turn in a project every week. So I always end up rushing through pictures and not being able to make them as good as I want to. But oh well, it gets me the grade.

Why would she do that? It kills so many avenues for actual creativity.

Ouch

Oh well, philosophy is for people with no aptitude for something useful :)

Lunch: Nice stuff.

lunch998 06-22-2005 10:39 PM

I used to do realistic things, but then I let my mind take over. I've created some pretty crazy stuff.

RiceMonster 06-22-2005 10:40 PM

Realistic drawings bore me to death. I like to draw whatever is in my head.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-22-2005 10:42 PM

Everythings better when you're just letting it flow. Same goes with music. I write best when I'm not thinking about writing anything worth while. It just all the sudden...BAM! Here! Something cool!
Nice stuff man. I can definitely see you've been influenced by The Wall, correct?
Yea on about 3 of those. I got out of that stage, but music still influences my art.

I like to look at a face and begin sketching it normally. Then I just let my mind wander and draw whatever I feel like. That's my favorite way to draw.

Madey: You would like this one :)

Me too. I can't plan when I write music. It just has to happen.

All my music is in my head fully orchestrated and beautiful. The challenge is writing it out like it sounds in my head. I have yet to do that well :(

Drugstep 06-22-2005 10:45 PM

Holy crap, that's what happens with me.

RiceMonster 06-22-2005 10:46 PM

I've been coming up with a lot of cool riffs lately becuase I haven't learned a song in a while. What I like to do now is just play.

Edit: about the part of having music in your head, and not being able to write it, I have that too. I can't count the number of awsome songs that have popped into my head, but haven't made it out.

Steerpike 06-22-2005 10:48 PM
All my music is in my head fully orchestrated and beautiful. The challenge is writing it out like it sounds in my head. I have yet to do that well :(
Same here. Maybe if I actually studied how to write music...

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-22-2005 10:48 PM

Vince- Yup, same thing happens to me. I can hear this beautiful riff in my head, floating away, all nice and scaly. Then I sit down and try to play it and it comes out sounding terrible. :-/

Permanent Solution 06-22-2005 10:48 PM

The worst part is being able to hear songs sometimes, and know how the solo will sound before it starts. Like being able to predict each note and duration as it comes...it's kinda lame...because I still can't write them out myself.

Illmatic 06-22-2005 10:50 PM

I can actually hear the entire song play out in my head (with drums, bass, harmonica/organs/pianos/etc.) but it literally because impossible to write because I don't know most of those instruments.

Cain 06-22-2005 10:50 PM
Same here. Maybe if I actually studied how to write music...
Studying is unneccesary. Download Finale Notebook for free and learn by doing. It becomes quite easy since you have MIDI playback for the notes you type in. It's how I program my drums for songs.

Ugh, that happens when I get a flute melody or a string section piece going. I try to write it down but I don't know time signature or note durations or anything, and playing it on guitar doesn't work.

Drugstep 06-22-2005 10:51 PM

Somtimes I come up with awesome guitar solos to songs that don't have solos.

When I come up with stuff in my head, i convince my self it sucks so i dont have to remember it. I used to come up with riffs all the time, and every time id stuggle to write them down wherever i could, and I'd have tabs drawn all over my homework and shit.
