I only had their newest album which was impressive for about 3 minutes of the first song. The rest of their stuff is same.

Using two different tunings on the same album isn't uncommon.

Dimebag uses the tunings E, Eflat, Drop D, and D on Vulgar Display of Power.

I like Drop D or standard.

I used to like drop D but I dont really care for it now except on acoustic, but I use Drop C there. My guitars are tuned:
Jackson Dinky - Standard for playing Cynic, Pestilence, Megadeth, and shreddy type stuff like Tony Macalpine
Jackson Soloist - Eflat for stuff like Nevermore, Yngwie Malmsteen, whatever else metal thats a half step down
Blueridge Acoustic - D standard for Van Halen's Spanish Fly

well i mean everyone hates them here for being quasi mainstream or whatever the reason, but I've always liked them. It's kind of like The Black Album. I'm not going to stop liking it because I'm into sh[size=2]i[/size]t that's a lot heavier. And as overdone as it sounds, Dimebag has always been one of my favorite riff writers/soloists.

I finally got Paul's solo down in Veil of Maya, its one of the most fun to play.

Focus is pretty good. Somewhere between a 3.5-4 after first listen.

5. My favorite album of all time. I've listened to it around 60-some times as an average. I could look at my ipod but i don't think i will.

Actually thats one of the things I really like about it. This seems like it could definitely be a grower though. [I]Veil of Maya[/I] is great.

It seems like most people who listen to it (especially first time listeners) pick that one as their favorite. Mine has always been Sentiment though. Veil of Maya only recently started to get a little more play than the rest since i was learning the solo and then I began to really appreciate some of the subtleties of it. One of my favorite moments of the entire album is the part a little after the solo where Paul sings a short vocal melody at 3:40.
