I'm not selling or buying a bass. I am thinking about pedals, though.
Don't do it. They are a trap.

Buy my Stingray.

Spaceman Spiff 03-25-2010 10:42 AM

Big show tonight. I'm very excited.

How big?

I don't know exactly. It's at one of the best mid-level venues in the city. Lots of touring bands play this place.

We've sold a bunch of tickets and have nuff people coming out.

There will be bouncing, followed by rolling, followed by rolling of the third type.

FunkMetalBass 03-25-2010 11:15 AM

Nice. You should tell your bassist to buy my Stingray.

Spaceman Spiff 03-25-2010 11:18 AM

I would, but I already know he doesn't want a Stingray. He's a man of Schecter tastes.

I really like my Schecter too. I would love to get a custom made to match the specs of the Studio 6 with a thinner neck, but I can't justify the custom-shop price of one.

EDIT: And upgraded to Active EMGs.

Spaceman Spiff 03-25-2010 11:22 AM

How much, generally, are their custom-shop basses?

I have no need to buy any more instruments.

Over $3000 when I emailed them a year ago. Not worth it, IMO, to have a production-model instrument made with a slightly thinner neck and upgraded electronics. It's a $900 instrument that any respectable luthier could mod for w/ parts and labor coming to no more than the cost of the bass.

Spaceman Spiff 03-25-2010 11:52 AM

I see. You're right. Definitely not worth that much money.

I don't want another bass, and certainly not a 4 string.

Efrim 03-25-2010 01:54 PM

I think I'm about ready to stop writing research papers for a spell.

:amaze: 03-25-2010 02:24 PM

Awesome man, let us know how it goes!

:amaze: 03-26-2010 01:02 AM

T minus 16 hours until my new band plays our first show.

It's an outdoor event (googlefest), and the facebook page has 1600+ confirmed guests (not that there will be nearly that many when we are actually playing). I'm pretty pumped to rock out the new jams.

BenJammin 03-26-2010 07:44 AM

We've got our first show next Friday.

JFC. I'm excited.

Spaceman Spiff 03-26-2010 11:47 AM

That went really well last night. It was so much fun.

We had one person filming and a photography student with a badass camera taking pictures.

I can't wait to see it all.

I saw Henry Rollins do one of his spoken word shows tonight. It was awesome. He's always so funny and entertaining and informative. He always has a lot of interesting things to talk about.

Soul 03-27-2010 10:50 AM

henry rollins is awesome

Spaceman Spiff 03-27-2010 11:21 AM

He did his usual 3 hours of non-stop talking. Going on about getting to be in the Canada the same week as Ann Coulter. Talked about the presidential election and going back to DC that day, hanging out with Ian MacKaye and seeing the Bad Brains. He was talking about his experience filming the second season of Sons Of Anarchy. He went on about going on RuPaul's show to judge the drag queens. And, of course, lots of stories about his travels in the last year.

:amaze: 03-27-2010 06:58 PM

woooo. got 2 tracks back from the producer today. who wants to hear some fresh jams????

Gattsu347 03-27-2010 07:39 PM

Sure man.

fatbandit 03-28-2010 12:45 PM

i don't like the new gorillaz album.

i think that makes me a bad person? idk

Spaceman Spiff 03-28-2010 12:58 PM

Gorillaz have always been hit or miss for me. Some songs I really like, but a lot of their music just doesn't hook me.

I haven't heard the new album yet, but I am curious. I'll check it out soon enough.

:amaze: 03-28-2010 01:13 PM

i've got their first 2 albums. some decent party songs and whatnot, but nothing amazing.

fatbandit 03-28-2010 02:06 PM
