I really liked "thread of the ancient mariner."

7killer7 09-07-2005 05:13 PM

i'm sure its been suggested already, it must have, (i'm too lazy to go back and look) but just on the offchance that it hasn't....

"Post With Your Boots On"?

The Evil that Threads do

-The Frank 09-08-2005 01:59 AM

i think i was Yload who said it but, scream for me R&M is the one i think is the best so far, and yes killers overshawdows piece of mind completely. It has no filler tracks at all. Except, suprisingly enough ghengis kahn was written to be a filler, because they needed a new song on short notice.

Dannyboy15 09-08-2005 02:28 AM

Fun Face

Ghengis khan has the riff that Papa Roach stole and mixed it with a Green Day song (Brain Stew) and called it Last Resort.

Deth 09-08-2005 05:49 AM

My vote now formally goes to Hallowed By Thy Thread.
How about The Thread of the Beast?

Or : *Gets egged by the Black Sabbath Thread*
That was uncalled for. Neither Ozzy NOR Sabbath had any part in that, it was those bitches Sharon and Kelly. I am a huge Sabbath fan and a regular in the Black Sabbath thread yet I still think what happened to Maiden was disgraceful.

the_uber_penguin 09-08-2005 06:28 AM

I saw Iron Maiden's Reading highlights last night (showed Run To The Hills and Iron Maiden), and all that stuff they were saying about Bruce was true...he couldn't really hit the "TO" in "Run TO the hills" like he could.

/really stupid.........i just wanted to give something to the discussion =(

Bartender 09-08-2005 09:04 AM

I picked up a few Iron Maiden albums yesterday, which I think now finally raises my Maiden collection status to "half-decent".

/pointless

what ones did you get

Bartender 09-08-2005 09:15 AM

Piece of Mind, Killers and Powerslave, to be added to The Number of the Beast, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, Brave New World, Dance of Death and a compilation.

EdwardTheGreat 09-08-2005 09:28 AM

Which compilation? You should get a live album next, so go and get Rock In Rio.

Stevie 09-08-2005 11:45 AM

Ah the new Maiden CD - a few noticable missing tracks, but overall a brilliantly played live album. I'd recommend it, but it would be useful instead for maiden to instead of playing their latest album's tracks release a live album that is purely their greatest hits instead of being dominated by their latest album.

i prefer it when they do less of their greater songs because i'd like to hear stuff i've never heard live, right now i hav around 10 different versions of Hallowed live.

the_uber_penguin 09-08-2005 11:56 AM

Yes. I'd love to hear Face In The Sand live, or some of the stuff from the second half of BNW. (Particularly The Thin Line Between Love And Hate and The Fallen Angel)

crag 09-08-2005 11:57 AM

agreed :)

Stevie 09-08-2005 11:58 AM

Yes, I agree in fact. Last statement retracted! I'm sick of Hallowed...etc. But I'd rather hear something live off of Somewhere in Time, for example. I don't want live where it's so dominated that other great tracks are ignored for newer stuff - it does however mean that we hear on this album tracks that if the album was not released we would never hear again live...
