So no Pixies fans in here? Well, I'm also seeing Mogwai and Battles (two separate shows) next week. I'm pretty stoked about it.
Pixies fan right here. Mogwai and Battles are pretty dece too.

Dammit Zack you keep talking about these epic shows and I'll have to move to Toronto! or at least road trip there I guess seeing as I'm moving back to North Bay in May.

gaslight 04-21-2011 10:18 AM

Mogwai are massive live.

I got the latest Mogwai album the other day, it's more of the same but it's decent enough for driving or background music.

lemoley 04-21-2011 08:48 PM

bored as fuck

FunkMetalBass 04-21-2011 09:35 PM

I drilled my FX loop case today and did a test fit. It's going to be a bit tight, but it should work out just fine. I have enough parts to make a second 4-loop if I want, so if this one isn't too tedious to solder, I might just do it and sell it locally for profit.

Check out the twin neck SG/bass thing Pat Smear has in this video. Cool.

Love working on Easter Saturday, double time and a half baby.

Thanks Jesus, you're a real sport.

Close but no cigar my friend.

funkyhoney 04-23-2011 08:41 AM

Nice deduction though.

FunkMetalBass 04-23-2011 02:49 PM

1. Player 1 chooses a number m larger than 1000
2. Player 2 chooses a number n larger than 1 and less than 1000.
3. If Player 1's number is divisible by Player 2's, Player 2 wins.
4. If Player 1's number is not divisible by Player 2's, re-define m=m-n and Player 2 chooses a new number.
5. Repeat from Step 2, noting that Player 2 cannot choose the same number twice.

Does player 2 have a winning strategy?

In attempting to figure it out, I discovered something terrifying.
The number of possible choices that Player 2 could make is so large that if you tested 10 possibilities every second, it would take 10^2554 years to check them all for the winning combination.

funkyhoney 04-23-2011 04:13 PM

That damn chartreuse. Deceived me with its herbal taste and inviting colour.

FunkMetalBass 04-23-2011 04:16 PM

I don't trust 95% of French alcohol.

funkyhoney 04-23-2011 04:20 PM

I only drank about a quarter of a 1L bottle over literally 6 or 7 hours and I was written off. Usually if I drink I have a bottle of wine to myself and am fairly comfortable.

Just hook it up to a supercomputer cluster made of Playstations.

I can't - they're in use searching for Mersienne primes.

gaslight 04-24-2011 03:07 AM

X-box then.

funkyhoney 04-24-2011 04:14 AM
X-box then.
You mean an underpowered computer with poor storage capacity and unnecessarily cumbersome and uneconomical input devices?

gaslight 04-24-2011 05:10 AM

Unless there's another kind of X-box out there that isn't a piece of shit, yeah.

I actually quite like my Xbox. In the 3 hours of gaming that I do per year, it suits my needs just fine.

That's about the limit of its powers right there.

I've never had a problem with my 360, most comfortable controller I've ever used.. Not a huge playstation fan, never have been.

In other news should be getting about 2grand back from insurance. Time to start shopping...

I'm the same way. I actually loved the original huge Xbox controllers. The removal of the white/black buttons and addition of a right/left bumper was a good idea, though.

What are you in the market for? Have the police found any leads on your instruments?

nicatterberry 04-25-2011 04:19 PM

Haha I hated the black and white buttons for some reason, the bumpers are much more useful. Thanks for that idea Sony

I plan on going used, most likely an American Jazz of some variety first, then save up a little and get a nice five string. No word on mine yet though

nicatterberry 04-25-2011 04:21 PM

Really loving this right now

I like Koa. I really like Walnut tops.

FunkMetalBass 04-25-2011 05:02 PM

Hell yeah, a guy is coming over in a little bit to check out my rack mixer and hopefully buy it.

Did you try cleaning your registry first?

fatbandit 04-26-2011 08:45 AM

Tried everything first. Wouldn't do this if it wasn't a last resort :(

Epidemechanical 04-26-2011 09:08 AM

reboot in safe mode, run malwarebytes. problem solved. dont be a comp nub.

Done that already!

Everything's cool now though, cuz I do backups. What a champ.

fatbandit 04-26-2011 09:55 AM

Also, as far as USB interfaces go, my Tascam is pure dog shit. How's the Native Instruments Audio Kontrol 1 stack up? Seen one going for about £90, and I'm tempted to pick it up.

fatbandit 04-26-2011 10:24 AM

Ooh, or a Focusrite Saffire 6. That's like £20 more, but it looks pretty sweet too.

FunkMetalBass 04-26-2011 04:40 PM

What sucks about the Tascam? I'm in the market for a USB or Firewire interface, and preferably one without an internal preamp.
