yea, i actually played it today, with a PRS McCarty. Not as nice as my tremonti, but it definitely sold me on the amp

A cop+badguy+half naked chicks+cars will appeal to the kidiots that see it all over Fuse and MTV.

Hardly selling out, that's the way they've always been. They're just screwing around and having a good time for god's sake. Metal needs more bands that play good music and don't take themselves too seriously.

It sounds like they are just trying to appeal to the stupid kiddies who watch Fuse and MTV. I don't think the music on AYDY sold out, but catering to kidiots like this...and starting to make music videos is getting there or at least very very very close to selling out. :mad:

Some lame thing? Well over half of that video was shots of the band playing the song. I don't see any aspect of that video that consitutes "selling out" or "appealing to kidiots".

They have the attitude of a punk band but write metal music. I think attitude is very important in metal and the attitude they have now isn't very metal at all.

The music they choose to write shows their attitude. The music is still obviously metal so I don't see what you're going on about.

It sounds to me like you're narrowing "real metal" down to power metal only. There are plenty of "real metal" bands that don't fall into what you just described.

Thrash didn't come directly from punk.

Punk was an influence on Thrash, but not where it came from.

How about black metal, that's all about non real concepts, same with most melodic death, heavy metal, regular death most of the time (like nile and behemoth, not cannibal corpse, who I think are very punkish in attitude), and almost all metal really.

I think when you too much stock into the attitude you demean the music. Age of Silence and Winds both have very professional attitudes.
