wait didn't the mods "get rid of" the official threads before

that lasted a few days

I really don't understand the argument that the official threads alienate people. If no one in the official threads talks about a band you bring up, what makes you think anyone will talk about them in their own thread?

Closing all the offical threads would be completely stupid. Didn't Jelle do this, what, 6 months ago? We closed a bunch of threads and they were restarted. You can't blame people for bulls[size=2]h[/size]itting in threads, that kind of stuff will happen. Ultimately,If you close them, they will be restarted and the process will repeat itself.

I did that once before, as I remember. I was pressured into restoring them all, though.

Yeah, exactly. You guys are acting like if you close them this will magically fix the problem and there will be no more 'official' threads in existence. Plus, who really cares that a people are talking like it's a community? This is an internet forum for god's sake.

I don't see how calling someone jewish is a racial slur at all, because I mean, even if they're jewish, it's..true. They're a jew. I could see someone getting mad over "n1gger", "k1ke", or "sp1c" though.

I think a general rule should be to steer clear of the black metal thread anyway. I mean, most of the so-called "official threads" stay generally on topic except for maybe a few tangents, but I don't see anything wrong with that.

They do, but then you eventually end up with s[size=2]h[/size]itfests like the Children of Bodom thread was and the Black Metal thread currently is and usually it's due to people not having anything new to discuss and just posting in that thread for the sake of keeping it alive.

No, don't close it--like I said, I have a feeling that will cause some spam or something from the black metallers. Just don't expect it to be a quality thread, because it's, well, a black metal thread.

You were specifically warned and you continued to spam. There's a difference between people coming in, spamming, and stopping when warned and what you did. You spammed after a warning to stop. No reason to complain.

I wasn't really pissed about the ban, but the reasoning seemed a little lame to me (naturally, I'm not a "contributing member" :rolleyes:)
