Why didnt you like Metamorphogenesis, Jammie? It's their best album IMO.

hey the2stranger did you go to that esoteric + jarboe + 2 more bands gig?
Not yet.
The gig is on the 24th of this month,
If I go I'll report back to you guys for sure. :)
The Maniacal Vale was actually the second I heard from them and I really like it. The first one I heard was Metamorphogenesis, and I didn't like it.
I loved the shift in tempo on this record.
I thought it was another great step in the experimentation process of Esoteric.

Metamorphogenesis is so ****ing evil, disturbing and psychotic.
Definitely Esoteric's best in my book.

Full new song and a new version of a demo song up now. Holy **** amazing.

Shattered_Future 05-14-2009 06:10 PM

New SunnO))) leaked. Getting now.

nedchambers 05-15-2009 10:11 AM

new All the Empires of the World album was released today. it's really good. i remember their first record getting a really positive writeup from Iluvavatars here. they're kind of like isis meets old jesu meets fennesz. new EP is great, it's got a freaking huge sound, all these cavernous washes of ambience and enormous doom riffs. the record label has it up for download for free here, everyone in this thread should give it a spin:

http://recordsonribs.com/artists/alltheempiresoftheworld/lastrites/

i need to check out that new sunn record, everything i've read makes it sound way better than their last few

FatalEnergy 05-26-2009 02:04 PM

New Spiritus Mortis is good.

Very Candlemass-ish with Albert Witchfinder on vocals.

General Patton 05-26-2009 02:14 PM

I love doom metal. Some of the bands I enjoy:

-Black Math Horsemen
-Cathedral
-Candlemass
-Cult of Luna
-Isis
-My Dying Bride
-October Tide
-Pentagram
-Reverend Bizarre
-Saint Vitus
-Thorr's Hammer
-Witchfinder General

Just some bands off the top of my head.

the2stranger 05-26-2009 02:17 PM

Welcome.
You have a good taste in doom metal.
Good share of traditional and newer/alternative stuff.

repcak 05-26-2009 02:36 PM

I got an answer by the label!

I am going to interview SUNN O))) :p
... though its not 100%, but I think its 99% sure ...
face2face on the 3rd June... next week ^^

So what shall I ask?!

the2stranger 05-26-2009 02:37 PM

ZOMG.
Kacper, that is an amazing opportunity!
What to ask.
/Starts thinking about questions.

FatalEnergy 05-26-2009 02:43 PM

Ask them why they don't just put Burning Witch together full time again.
New Spiritus Mortis is good.

Yeah, it's the best thing they've ever done and the best thing he's ever done.

FatalEnergy 05-26-2009 03:50 PM

I agree with first part of that, not so much the second.

pate 05-26-2009 05:08 PM

Most people will agree with you.

rasputin 05-26-2009 09:52 PM
So what shall I ask?!
ask them if they could make a record so slow that it wouldn't even be slow anymore

Txus 05-26-2009 10:01 PM

I'm getting the new Spiritus Mortis right now, looks promising.

bret5555 05-27-2009 03:20 AM

FatalEnergy 05-27-2009 01:48 PM

Yeah, Death Bride is my favorite.

Killer album

Bleekill 05-27-2009 02:41 PM

This was probably mentioned but Church of Misery- Houses of the Unholy is completely ridiculous. Heavy as hell.

Ventriloquist 05-27-2009 03:08 PM

Yeah it was mentioned a lot, but it is worth mentioning again. Great album.
It's going to be awesome
The concept of the album souns pretty good and the cover of the album looks promising and metal:

Shattered_Future 05-29-2009 01:33 PM

Win.

It still makes me laugh that half of the band was in Midnattsol, which was decidedly not funeral doomy at all.
