Adam Jones is GOD 07-31-2005 12:54 PM

My lesser musically informed friend's comment on hearing a FTM track.

"Why are they all playing different songs to each other?"

Sometimes, the smallest minds make the best comments

YouGottaBeCrazy 07-31-2005 12:55 PM
Thats right.
Okay, thanks.

Any comment I make wont be positive. But i've got this down to a T now.

Great thread <threadstarter>

I dont really like/I've got respect for/I love (delete as appropriate) <insert band>, and I have #albums of theirs/need to get their album(s).

Thanks for the uploads/links/info.

The Mars Volta write screwed up stuff because they want to. They challenge the listener. Tool does the same but without free jazz parts. I personally love The Mars Volta. Frances the Mute is awesome, not because its easy to listen to but because they do stuff that any normal Mexican-American would cringe at the thought of doing.

Shadius 07-31-2005 02:59 PM

Haha thanks, If i get it onto the third page I'm happy.

I should whore things out in this thread more. Most of my Sputnik reviews never get much love due to lack of advertising.

Sorry, my typing is slightly hindered due to a bee-bite.

I'm going to guess nothing new has happened in the four day period I was on kickarse vacation. Is this correct?

Oh, in other news, I am reading The Davinci Code, which is on Tool's booklist. I can really see why it is on there. There are so many things relating to cryptology and symbology that pop up so often in this thread and in Tool's music. :amaze:

jamesclelland 07-31-2005 04:12 PM

who's planning on getting that lateralus vinyl?

i've heard with the right player they sound better than cd's, but i dont even know if i could open the thing up without feeling crappy about it.

Nothing Tool related, but I found out that I'm getting sent to prison in Turkey, The JoZ was found dead in his bathtub due to electricution by bass, AJIG decided to become a spokesman for NAMBLA as well as several bestiality networks, Kage accidentally joined a professional lynch mob, and Clearvision is running for the next Governor of California.

My muscles are bigger than arnie, so vote for me.

That was random and rather hillarious BlindWriting.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-31-2005 04:23 PM

Oh, well in that case, I'm going to decide to either hump Steven Wilson, or steal his identity.

Da Vinci code is a great book. Though I think Dan Browns first Langdon book, Angels and Demons, is better.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-31-2005 04:37 PM

Knifeboy- I picked up Voyage 34. AMAZINNNNNNNGUH

Madey-I'm at the part where Sophie dies at the hands of Teabag.

Syncratic 07-31-2005 04:45 PM
What? Haha since when?
Always have. I was bitten twice today, and my sister was bitten six times last week.

Anyway, Angels and Demons is better than the DaVinci Code.

denboy 07-31-2005 04:46 PM

The full trip? (All four songs?)
I love the first two, but the third and fourth are kind of dull..
Listening to the first track on my surround sound system nearly makes me feel high on lsd.. Haha

Syncratic 07-31-2005 05:08 PM

I'd have it if I knew where the hell I could find it. I have a few songs from it and they're really amazing.

Amazon is always an easy solution. Last time I checked they had it, but it was a bit too expensive. You could probably find it at smaller, used record stores. You know, the kinds of places where you could find rare stuff, bootlegs, etc.

Yeah, I went on a search of all the places like that around here and none had good PT selection. I found some other good stuff, but no PT :-\

And I always check Amazon, but, yeah, the price of all their PT stuff is too expensive right now.

(I whore this site as much as I can because.... It's the cheapest place to buy cd's I've ever seen.. Plus, when they ship to europe they lable the box "documents, total worth: $16.75".. so I don't have to pay taxes)

just wondering...
did other tool releases have this kind of secrecy and mysteriousness as this one?
i started listening to tool after lateralus came out, I was in ninth grade and i graduated this year, thats a loooong time at least for me.

I started listening to them this year, so I suppose.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-31-2005 06:26 PM

Knifeboy- Yeah, I got the remastered edition. I agree with you that the first 2 songs are quite amazing. I'm dead serious when I say that the solo on Phase I is one of the best solos I've ever heard. The second one. It just. Ohhh, it grooves. I think that latter 2 phases were put in there not to tell a story, but to aid the user in enhancing their own personal Voyage. :D

Don't worry Madey, I just made that up. 0:-D

I agree, really really amazing solo..
And the first two tracks was on the original lp, track 3, and 4 was made as an afterthought and released on a seperate lp.. Ah man, now I feel like listening to it.. But I can't because it's 2:30 am and my parents are sleeping

Post analysis:

A few=more than 2
the album has 4 songs
I'm guessing you have 3 songs from it? :-D
