Dude he's totally in Guatemala.

Stupid jerk won't pick up his phone. How can I go buy his bike if he won't pick up?
Also, I figure I'm going to have a barbecue today, complete with prime rib. What are you chumps doing with your day? |
Okay guys, question for ya.
Happy Gilmore or Billy Madison? |
Probably Madison. Although he gets his **** ruined more often in Gilmore and that makes me smile.

I personally will on their behalf. After I have my little tantrum. I missed out on seeing Emilie Autumn last night because my work is useless and doesn't have enough staff and the people I work with are evidently cunts who'll never help you out even though I work quite literally EVERY Saturday night. Not only that, my ex went to the gig, so I missed out on some drunken abusing that's been a long time coming. **** my life. Yes I'm really this petty. |

So, the house I'm renting has a french doors in the back, but it was never re-pinned by the owner to match the front door locks, so there's no key for it. This bothers me, so I disassembled the deadbolt yesterday and worked with it.
Good news is, my front door key now works with my back door deadbolt. Bad news is, any key now works with my back door deadbolt. I'm buying a pin set today so that I can do it properly. It's actually very very simple to do. I think it's also about time to sell off the Carvin stack. She's worked wonders for me for 4 years now, but I think it's time to move on and finally build that BFM stack I've been wanting. I think I'm also going to build an 8-space rolling rack to house my head and preamp so that I can sell off my racks and stop breaking my back lugging everything. Wheels FTW. |
I'd love to put wheels on my cab. Is this feasible?
|
Yeah. Just put them on the side.
|
Yeah. Just put them on the side.
Where would I get wheels is my next question, then. |
Hardware store? Make sure the castors are fine for the weight you'll be putting on them.
|
Our singer didn't respond well to being kicked from our band yesterday.
On the plus side, we probably already have a new singer. We've been getting a lot of interest from some really good singers, but this one in particular is leading the competition. She sings and plays guitar really well, and is cute. Looks shouldn't matter, but no one wants to look at an ugly girl singing. |
if we lose or singer, we'll just shout down microphones ourselves. Like circle takes the square.
|
The person we're leaning towards has sent us some really good samples of original material and covers. She's got a really good, strong voice. And she's really excited about joining the band. She seems to really like our music.
|
Pics or she doesn't exist.

Anyone know what's a good mic for stage use? More specifically one that you can get a lot of gain out of before you start getting feedback. We run a pretty noisy onstage sound level sometimes. Heard conflicting things about the Heil PR 20/22 - some people say it has good feedback rejection, and others bad. I'm currently using a Sennheiser e385. I'm pretty happy with it overall, but soundguys keep finding fault with it just because it isn't an SM58 ¬_¬
|
i'm assuming it's for vocals not your amp?
|
correct.
tends to be a D112 on the cab normally (lots of venues seem to have one spare for some reason), but i think i'm gonna buy my own 57 to take round and blend that with the DI. using the D112 on the bass drum and the bass cab seems to end in a big mess between the two ¬_¬ |
Yeah D112's do sound really good on a live kick drum, but you'd probably get the two exact same mid cuts...and I just looked at the frequency response chart and it boosts lows and highs which is similar to a mid cut.
57 gets you huge 6khz boost, which may or may not help define the fizz of your distorted/overdriven tone. And you'll get your low end from the DI. As for vocal mics why not use a 57 as well? |
That's a possibility - hadn't thought of using a 57 for the vocals. Never really think of it as a vocal mic. I quite like being able to get all up in the grille of microphones for quiet bits though, which is something the 57 doesn't look like it'd lend itself to?
|
I really like the SM58 because of its low-mid presence. I find it fits with my voice better than the SM57.
In other news, I found a guy selling a BFM Omni-15 (the same one I was going to build) for only $40. Granted, it's just the cab, so I'll still have to throw $300 of drivers and parts into it, but I easily would have spent more than $40 in wood & carpeting to build the cab. Plus, it saves me a lot of time. Now I need to keep my eyes out for some used Eminence speakers to drop in. |
