Alexi's now using more of his speaking voice, you can hear him kinda talk some words. The only example I can think of is "I refuse to be brought down by you" in Sixpounder, as opposed to the completely rasped verse in "Hatebreeder".

Btw, that list up there isn't the songs I know, it's just my favourite ones to play. :p

Shred Danson 01-15-2006 06:30 PM

heh, when I saw the video that came with the EP..it seemed whenever he spoke in English, he sounded like he had an American accent, haha...

IheartSP 01-15-2006 06:32 PM

In Passage to the Reaper he has a big Finnish accent.

"We have some riffs for yoo"

OMg Alexi speaks wonderfull english1 I was talking to him after I saw them play
and I almost saked how he got so good at english. Then I heard him speaking in Finnish (er whatever they speak) and it was awosme too. He really does have a good speaking voice

IheartSP 01-15-2006 06:37 PM

When he says Sinergy and Children of Boodom he literally says all 5 words in less than a second I swear...

You got to talk to him in person? Lucky...

Yea he's pretty crazy. When I saw them he said something about Brittany spears really fast and everyone was like "What?" it was funny

Yea I talked to Trivium first (Matt gave me a pick) then I look over and see Alexi talking to his guitar tech so I went up and said Hi and thanked him for his music and his lessons in guitarworld. He gave me a sticker

IheartSP 01-15-2006 06:39 PM

I'm seeing him at a real small venue in March, I really really really wanna talk to him.

Britton 01-15-2006 06:44 PM
I'm seeing him at a real small venue in March, I really really really wanna talk to him.
You probably will.

The reason I really got to talk to him was because I was in the very front being smashed against the stage all night. And when the show was over the people that worked at the venue pretty much pushed everyone out of the place. and sense I was last I was closest to the band

and then they locked the gates so I had to ask them to let me out. I shouldv'e waited longer so I could walk out with the bands

pep 01-15-2006 06:48 PM

ok, im confused... CoB covered Europe´s The final countdown?

IheartSP 01-15-2006 06:49 PM

No, it's a mislabel. It was actually by Norther.

Britton 01-15-2006 06:53 PM
ok, im confused... CoB covered Europe´s The final countdown?
That would be kinda cool...

Forlorn Hope 01-15-2006 06:54 PM

Norther's version was pretty cool despite the fact that the vocals were awful.

IheartSP 01-15-2006 06:56 PM

And there was little to no keyboard.

Forlorn Hope 01-15-2006 06:57 PM
And there was little to no keyboard.
*listens again* very true.

Scoot 01-15-2006 06:59 PM

I downloaded a song by CoB called Mass Hypnosis. Is it a mislabel because it kinda sounds like them...

Good song though.

Yea its them, maybe. I know they did a cover of it at least.

The best cover Bodom did in my opinion is Rebel Yell.

IheartSP 01-15-2006 07:01 PM

It's by them yes, and originally by Sepultura. Anyone notice the one random lick from Lake Bodom in there though? I can't imagine it's in the original, although I've never heard it, but who's dumb enough to cover a song they ripped off?

Britton 01-15-2006 07:03 PM

I would love to get the "Shot in the dark" cover. I had it but the MP3 flipped out and I accidently deleted it from my PC

IheartSP 01-15-2006 07:03 PM

It is a horrible cover, they don't add anything but those wretched vocals.

They talk about what riffs they used as influences on their official site. Is it me, or is there a lick in Living Dead Beat that sounds very close to the end of the solo in Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr by Trivium. It sounds very close except for the last note is different.

I can send it to you if you want it...

IheartSP 01-15-2006 07:06 PM

I haven't heard the song by Trivium enough to really know, I could go check out the tabs and compare though.

They ripped themselves off in We're Not Gonna Fall. They steal an exact measure from Black Widow.

IheartSP 01-15-2006 07:08 PM

Oh awesome, I get the first gig of the North American tour.

IheartSP 01-15-2006 07:09 PM

Where is the lick in Living Dead Beat?

I'll just yousendit in case someone else wants it, ok?

EDIT: The lick in Living Dead Beat is at about 3:30, which is after the keyboard interlude/solo thing. The part in the Trivium song is right at the end of the solo/s.
