I only have about 5 burned cds, I much prefer having the real copies over anything burned.
Same here. Its more respectful to the band, and it looks more impressive to have a REAL cd collection.

And I only got 9 for christmas. One's a double disc.
I much prefer having the real copies over anything burned.
Yeah so do.

Silenius 01-05-2005 06:38 PM
The majority of the cds that i buy are under 10 dollars. I'm a bargain hunter, unless it's something that i want very much.
I usually never go above 13$, but a few weeks ago I saw the Emperor/Enslaved split (Hordanes Land) and got it for 20$ because I have wanted it forever.

Cipher Hour 01-05-2005 06:47 PM

I've never paid above $15 for a CD.

Silenius 01-05-2005 06:48 PM
I've never paid above $15 for a CD.
There are some CDs that I would pay 30-40$ for.

/awakens

Well I am being a cheap ass and buying my albums in mp3 form off this mp3 site...so far I have gotten like 24 albums for 22 dollars...

Yes, I am a cheap ass, but at least I am downloading legally now.

jpj 01-05-2005 06:52 PM

I like to buy used. I got HTWWW for $12, and new I've never seen it less then like $28.

I also got 27 CD's for Christmas and bot 4 more with Christmas money, so that was nice.

I use iTunes sometimes but they don't really have what I want most of the time.

Kage 01-05-2005 06:53 PM

I would NEVER pay for mp3s.

BludgeonySteve 01-05-2005 06:56 PM

Paying for mp3s keeps music from dying. Paying for albums is even better :)

Bartender 01-05-2005 06:56 PM

I have a total of 1 burned CD, and that was a gift. I've got a few albums in mp3 form though, mostly, but not all, ones I just can't find physically.

Cipher Hour 01-05-2005 06:57 PM

Lucky you, unfortunately my job pays **** so I'm usually too strapped for cash to pick up anything THAT expensive.

Well there's only one or two I've bought for that much, one of them was Burzum/Aske I think.

See, I would love to own them all phsyically, but I can't. It is to expensive for me, unless I had some job that paid 30-40 bucks an hour, then I could. So I have to get my music like this if I want to continue getting new music and bands and stuff. I can't be going out spending 100-200 dollars on like 10-12 cds when there are so many bands I want to check out and so much stuff I want from the current bands I listen to.

Thats my reasoning for mp3 downloading...

Heh, I don't think I could ever do that. I prefer CDs to burned stuff. I don't know, I guess I'm one of those people that needs to own the album. I only burn things not worth buying.

BludgeonySteve 01-05-2005 07:05 PM

^me too. I can't download an album, burn it and feel good. I'm a collector.

Ya know, if cds were less than $10 each on average they would fly off the shelves and the extra profit would make up for the price.

Cipher Hour 01-05-2005 07:05 PM

^^ It's a shame people are too stupid to realize this.

Omg, lol. I just saw your stars. Anyways, I'm back and legal!!!!
Paying for mp3s keeps music from dying. Paying for albums is even better :)
Ya true, I get much more satisfaction out of buying an album.

BludgeonySteve 01-05-2005 07:09 PM
I'm back and legal!!!!
wtf?

gmoneyguy 01-05-2005 07:10 PM

I haven't been here in a few days, and I turned 18 yesterday.

jpj 01-05-2005 07:10 PM

I think he just turned 18.

EDIT: I was correct.

Riva 01-05-2005 07:11 PM

er. What? That's what I said. I only burn things I can't find (out of print or rare albums, for example). What did you think I meant?
Right, the poll is up. Go forth and vote! Bartender, sticky it now!

er. What? That's what I said. I only burn things I can't find (out of print or rare albums, for example). What did you think I meant?
I thought you meant that all the albums you own were downloaded.

RiceMonster 01-05-2005 08:30 PM

I buy albums, but not very often. I rarely have the cash for it. I hate it, I'm alweays stuck downloading then buying the album a month later. I need a job. :(

Dancin' Man 01-05-2005 09:37 PM

Anyone here know any latin?

Check my grammar

Casus de Hominis

Idea for a band name but it would be very embarassing to use it and then find out it's wrong.

The idea is for it to say The Fall of Man
