My only experience with earth is Hex, and I found it to be quite boring.

Boilermaker 02-09-2008 08:44 PM

I poured some water.

It was a good night.

I can't transfer because freshmen year of community college I decided to be my own counselor. Bad idea.

Hopefully in a year or two after I take a million classes with math and ****.

I love Hex. It was sort of my first foray into any kind of drone, ambience, or post-rock, and it's just so goddamn minimal. Earth described it as a "country album".

Hahaha, sorry, I didn't catch that.

(Young) Pioneers are awesome. I only have their split EP with Avail, but I love all of their tracks. Really fun, dissonant, noisily folk-influenced rock n' roll... Way better than any so-called modern "folk-punk".

br3ad_man 02-10-2008 07:15 AM

Man I really want that Twin Peaks gold box.

I just finished watching Twin Peaks a few days ago and it's amazing. The movie was a bit disappointing though. And fucking weird. I'm thinking about getting it all on dvd as well cos it's so worth having.

br3ad_man 02-10-2008 08:00 AM

My library finally got it in so I've been watching it this week as well. It is amazing. I think the theme must be the most beautiful piece of music ever written for television.

ATM 02-10-2008 11:42 AM

My sister bought the whole series. I've never watched much of it.

perriwinkle 02-10-2008 01:16 PM

i played with my friends dog last night at his party and apparently i played pretty rough because i woke up this morning to a whole bunch of scratches all over my arms

Neoteric 02-10-2008 01:32 PM

perriwinkle 02-10-2008 01:54 PM

Boilermaker 02-10-2008 02:52 PM

Interstate 02-10-2008 03:22 PM

Went to my mate's 21st birthday party last night. Was awesome, although I'm feeling a bit worse for wear today. Cleaning up after parties is not fun.

my library has it coming in for me. should be good.

Liebensaft 02-10-2008 06:15 PM

I don't really visit libraries much. I download most media, and I get lots of Barnes and Noble gift cards.

sgrevs 02-10-2008 07:43 PM

I quite like the album. It's not amazing or anything, but it's pretty cool. There isn't too much African drumming and it's not especially amazing.

Zmev 02-10-2008 07:45 PM

I'm on Boston and the last three tracks have been good-really good, to their credit.

ATM 02-10-2008 07:47 PM

My uncle posted pics of his vinyl that was destroyed by a house fire a few years back:

http://heinouberspace.blogspot.com/

He had an entire house full of vinyl.

YourBiggestFan 02-10-2008 07:56 PM

hey, was wondering if anyone could help me here-
my band is looking for synth-pop sounds, but we have no idea where to start. What we really want is a mini-Korg like device, but preferably under the $200 range. . . does anyone know what midi controllers are like? worth it?

Montana 02-10-2008 08:30 PM

Yeah, it's just an album of nice songs. I can't believe all the hype surrounding them right now, though. It makes me feel ashamed to enjoy their music. Like I should listen to it in secrecy.
