August Burns Red is VERY mediocre from what I've heard, but better than most Metalcore bands I've heard, if that tells you anything about how much I love Metalcore.

They have that EP but I don't think that counts.

I personally think Messengers is better in terms of the tracklist, but the production is a tad too clean for my liking, and the drums are really brought to the forefront; almost nullifying the guitars at points.

Both albums are worth a listen though. That is, Messengers and Thrill Seeker (< debut)

August Burns Red are generic besides some off kilter breakdowns but they write some catchy riffs so they're okay I guess.

theyre generic at points, but once more, they have a lot of points that aren't generic (at least on thrill seeker, which is the main reason i'm not that into messengers)

Thrill Seeker is so much better. Messengers is still good, but TS is better.

ive only listened to messengers. Its pretty good, but there's too many songs and most of it blends together.

If they redid thrill seekers with jake and the production quality on messengers, then yeah, it would blow messengers away. But because josh was the vocalist on thrill seeker, i think messengers is better. not saying josh is bad, just saying jake is that much better.
