She was like a pita pocket, not him in her womb. That would just be kinda weird, huh.
Hey look this is the playlist from the graveyard shift I did at the radio station last night.
http://www.spinitron.com/public/index.php?station=kbga&month=Sep&year=2007&plid=6946

I went to sleep at 9pm yesterday then woke up at 1am, did the radio thing from 2-6am, went home and slept until 7:30am then went to work. It was fun.
bet nobody listened because it was typical nobody cares about this college radio.
they deserved it.
I dunno, it was probably bound to happen. Two white kids from the suburbs looking all vulnerable is generally an easy target.

Robert Crumb 09-29-2007 12:55 PM

Were they beat up by Hold Steady zealots or something?

Thanks 09-29-2007 01:49 PM

Speaking of college radio, I'm going to be performing live on the radio in two weeks.

dei 09-29-2007 01:51 PM

Can I stream over the interweb?

Thanks 09-29-2007 01:55 PM

Yes.
how'd you win the tickets?
Through a radio contest.

The movie was cool, though when I was getting my spot in line, I nearly ran directly into Sidney Lumet.

MTB was sold out! that's strange, shows in Pittsburgh never sell out. oh well i still heard some of their set from outside. just to let me know that i wasn't dreaming and Minus The Bear really was playing just a few yards from me.

damn.

A Dead Modernist 09-29-2007 10:11 PM

Did you not have tickets to go in?

YDload 09-29-2007 10:15 PM

no we just buy them at the door, that's the way it has always been done in the (usually) uncrowded Pittsburgh music scene. believe me, we weren't the last people to walk up to that box office in disappointment.

dei 09-29-2007 10:18 PM

You should buy tickets ahead of time, they're usually cheaper. But that's only if you head down to the box office or something, online ticketing sites rip you off. I'm sorry you couldn't go. I'm thinking about going to see them but I don't really listen to Planet of Ice.

YDload 09-29-2007 10:21 PM

i heard five songs and they hit all three of their full-length albums in just the short time we were listening to em.

and yeah i wanted to buy tickets early but having them delievered from ticketmaster would be a $35 ripoff. didnt realize the whole "calling up the venue" shortcut :(

A Dead Modernist 09-29-2007 10:23 PM

You can usually buy some tickets off some hobo. They raise the price a good bit though.

YDload 09-29-2007 10:26 PM

we waited around for a scalper (hence the "standing outside and hearing the band" thing)

dei 09-29-2007 11:38 PM

I did that once for Weezer. :(

br3ad_man 09-30-2007 01:19 AM

Don't you guys have record stores that sell tickets for shows?

Neoteric 09-30-2007 04:16 AM

I don't. o_O

br3ad_man 09-30-2007 04:50 AM

I get most of my tickets from record stores and from ticketing offices for bigger shows and occasionally online.

Liebensaft 09-30-2007 10:56 AM

Me and two friends went to Wolf Parade without tickets. It was sold out, so we stood outside. There was this other guy standing around too, obviously looking for tickets. Two minutes after we got there, a guy comes up and sells us one ticket. Then about thirty seconds later, these two guys walk up offering us two more tickets. Then that guy I mentioned, looking for them, came up to us asking if we had extras.

It ruled. We got three tickets before that poor guy got one.
Don't you guys have record stores that sell tickets for shows?
i don't live downtown i drove 80 miles for this!

dei 09-30-2007 11:29 AM

That sucks.

asdf 09-30-2007 11:41 AM

After driving across state with 3 friends to a sold out show, I pay the extra fee to have will call tickets (and if they don't have that, I will stoop to ticketmaster).
