Does anyone else think that the most imporant work that tool have made is with the melvins?
|
what....2 songs?
You lied and no quarter  Please explain :) |
King Buzzo- No.
Knifeboy- Not sure where Merkaba got that backing track from. The drums sound like good MIDI drums though..Too precise. Rob- Jones played guitar for the Melvins at some point in time. EDIT: Man, there is a cool little added section in this version. :D Jakey likes |
Patient- Thanks for the Part 1 upload.
****, first I buy the Primus live DVD from last year, then someone is nice enough to upload Floyd, and then someone is awesome enough to upload an awesome Tool bootleg. I know a lot of you on here love Primus. I'd upload the DVD if I knew how. But anyways, I recommend it greatly. I bought it for only $11. They're so talented and just amazing live. |
Whats the set for the ok show? At least for the first part.

I haven't heard it. Could you send it? And so far, I'd say that Ænima was their most important album and that Sober was their most important song. |
I'd say it's Lateralus and Lateralus.
|
Id say lateralus and lateralus too
|
Just kidding, I'd say Opiate for album and Mantra for song.

What are you talking about? |
Buzz has played guitar on a few Tool songs. You Lied and No Quarter are the two that I know of at the moment.
Actually, that might be it. So no, Tool's most important songs are not with the Melvins, considering the two that Tool/Buzz played are covers. |
You guys are gonna cover ticks?
|
Chris- Like I said, or at least I think I said, Jones has done some guitarizing with The Melvins, so that could be what that guy meant.
Expresso- It's a possibility. I tried recording it right now, but I failed miserably. I've got my 2 tones ready for the first part (one with delay, one without) and when I tried recording, my cable going into my effects processor would occaisionally stop sending signals, so I think I'll need a new one before I record again. I'm assuming you have the big avatar because you won a drum-off. If you are a drummer, do you think you could record a few songs for us? Stinkfist and Ænema need non-MIDI drum tracks, if you're at all interested. :) |
Was nice knifeboy...but it almost sounded like you were holding back slightly...wether it was to try and control pitch i don't know, but if you really let rip it would sound better imo...
I'm not that used to screaming yet so I might've been holding back.. But it probably didn't help that I didn't have any guitar to back me up (Did anyone else listen to the clip?) |
I'll check it out right now.
EDIT: It wasn't bad at all. On first listen, I thought it wasn't that good, but then I thought about how I would do it, and how I was setting you up against Maynard. :p Overall, I'd say you could probably nail it. Good luck. :) |
Holy heck.. thank you for Part 1 Patient! It's downloading now, I hope it'll work.

To me, it sounds like you are really pushing through with your diaphragm...but your mouth movement restricts the sound...really try and open your mouth and let rip...though this is sometimes hard to control...
However I'm really no vocal coach, I'm just assuming thats what you're doing because if i did what i explained thtas the type of sound iw ould get i think... |
That sounds fairly plausable... Heheh.. hopefully I'll have the house for myself tomorrow so I can practise
|
Hey, all!
I'm leaving at 5:00 tomorrow morning for Ocean City, Maryland (we live in Central PA, family's first vacation ever). Can you guys fill me in on any Tool news you might have, as I won't have Internet access until Saturday afternoon/evening. Thanks! |
Will do, have a good trip :)
Knifeboy - I'm waiting for the same lol. |
I used to go to Ocean City quite a bit.
|
Hmm so this OK show worked and it's amazing! I love it! But it cuts out during the near-end of Schism.. anyone elses do that or is it just mine, and if it's not just me does anyone have the rest of the show?
|
Actually, to me it sounded like you could use a bit less rasp, just to clean up the little pieces that are a bit pitchy.
|
Just yours....you miss parabol/a and third eye...
Try downloading it again...or use YSI get...a program on the YSi page that allows you to pause downloads..you may be able to get the rest of the file using the link. |
The set for OK concert

Bugger, only got 60% of the OK show then the download expired I guess. Sorry folks :(
|
I promise that the only reason it was pitchy at times was because of me not being able to hear what notes to hit!... Hehehe
|
You bastards are making me envious. :upset:
