Hi Alt/Indie. How is everyone today?
You clearly have really exciting dreams.

Edit: to EMH

I'm a girl with good taste in music that didn't get it from a boyfriend. My last boyfriend loves grindcore.

Damn, must be the ugly option then.
You're the exception. :o

My ex has good taste in music now, because she copied me. =o

Liebensaft 09-27-2007 01:01 PM

Today at school, I literally only had one class where I wasn't on a computer the entire time.

Also, Crass does not indicate good music taste.

Bukowski 09-27-2007 02:06 PM

well that depends

Crass's first album Feeding of the 5000 is genuinely one of the worst albums I've ever heard...dreadfully produced, and with an exceptionally annoying English spatula on vocals. But if you look past the absolutely awful early Crass albums, there's some interesting, more eclectic, music where the lyrics are actually comprehensible. And the lyrics are one of the most interesting things about them, as well as the way they're packaged along with the artwork. I'm by no means the biggest Crass fan in the world but I have a lot of respect for them. The early albums would turn anyone off for life though, and my friend in philosophy does agree with this.
I had a dream last night that I lived next door to Dominic. I asked if he wanted to come over to play video games but he had just woken up.
If you weren't playing a Nintendo system I would have used any excuse not to play really. You can call me out on that next time if you want.
i know what you mean, sometimes when i meet a girl who likes good music she's always on edge, afraid she's not "indie" enough like im gonna get pissed at her for liking death cab or that im gonna laugh at her if she suggests to me a band ive already heard or something

its like we are not in competition here get a grip. that sort of edginess is a turn off to me, its like theyre not confident and comfortable with themselves
I've had that exact experience before. I used to be totally enamored with arty/weird girls, but this last one I took a liking to just made me fed up. They just need to lighten up a little and stop being so needlessly complicated. That can go for all girls in general though.

Thanks 09-27-2007 04:11 PM

I want to get a little dagger (bowie knife?) with a sheath that I can keep in my pocket or something.

Word. It's so awful. You can't even do anything but play solitaire or pinball on the computers at my school.

Thanks 09-27-2007 05:35 PM

I always thought only girls masturbate.

ok the opening acts for the Minus the Bear show Saturday are Subtle and Ela. anyone know about them?

Kyle 09-28-2007 05:10 PM

Omg Subtle? That's going to be awesome. They're a hip hop collective featuring a few of the guys on Anticon records which is a great label.

I'm seeing Minus the Bear in December I think.

Concubine 09-28-2007 05:17 PM

The National are coming here on January, cool

The singer of Subtle is a crazy white dude with a mohawk who breaks/throws plastic forks while rapping really quickly.

Eliminator 09-28-2007 07:22 PM

hate plastic love mohawk

Liebensaft 09-28-2007 07:28 PM

Two of my friends got jumped coming home from the National about three weeks ago.

Really.

Eliminator 09-28-2007 07:34 PM

they deserved it.

Montana 09-28-2007 07:39 PM

Hey look this is the playlist from the graveyard shift I did at the radio station last night.
http://www.spinitron.com/public/index.php?station=kbga&month=Sep&year=2007&plid=6946

I went to sleep at 9pm yesterday then woke up at 1am, did the radio thing from 2-6am, went home and slept until 7:30am then went to work. It was fun.

Glitterati 09-28-2007 07:39 PM

I won two passes to the Vancouver Int'l Film Festival so apparently I'm going to the premiere of the Joy Division movie.

StaticSynth 09-28-2007 07:43 PM

how'd you win the tickets?

Robert Crumb 09-28-2007 08:16 PM
Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings
Awesome. I played some stuff from 100 Days, 100 Nights on my show this week, too. It was soul sister hour.

Eliminator 09-28-2007 08:20 PM

Robert Crumb 09-28-2007 08:26 PM

Should take his mother. The woman who held him in her womb like a live, fleshy pita pocket.
