Which cd? Yes, they rock! |
Usually i cant stand death metal but i dont think COB really fits in that catogory, they are so melodic and i love the keyboards.
|
You all think that sounds scary? Just read Cannibal Corpse lyrics... people find them very offending at school :)

Tracklist: Idle Hands Thoughts Without Words Destroyer of Senses Casting Shade Stepping Outside the Circle The Art of Balance Mystery of One Spirit The Idiot Box Prelude to Disaster A Fire in Babylon Welcome to the Machine I'm glad I could hook you up with this amazing stuff via the mail to a certain beloved female. :) |

If only for you, those were sexually laden w/e's were action verbs instead of adjectives... Too bad.....:p |
Oh trust me, I've had a bunch of those as well. Just not on here.
|
Ben, do you think you could send me some Shadows Fall? Someone started sending me War Within, but it got to track 5 then he signed off :(
If not, it's fine. |
Yeah, I'm glad you sent those to her, just think, I might have never even liked Shadows Fall

How good are Children of Bodom?
I've heard their guitarist is one of the best speed metal guitarists in the world, they *apparently* invented speed metal (I think Metallica did but anyway)
In an experienced musician opinion, how good would you say they are? |
Actually, speed metal was invented long before Metallica or COB.

In an experienced musician opinion, how good would you say they are?
They are good. Nothing spectacular, but definately worth checking them out. They are speed metal, you probably said that because you meant "one of the fastest guitar players in the world" Which, yes, he would be, behind hundreds of others. |
I've heard their guitarist is one of the best speed metal guitarists in the world, they *apparently* invented speed metal (I think Metallica did but anyway)
In an experienced musician opinion, how good would you say they are?
They are extremely good. They haven't invented anything new. But the do metal just as good as anyone else alive. a I've only been playing guitar for a year now. But in my opinion Alexi is in the top 20 shredders in the world maybe even better. The band as a whole is really talanted but they do lack good lyrics... |
The lyrics are hardcore. It sucks.
|
Speed Metal = Variation of Thrash Metal generally containing more melodic passages and more melodic vocals.
Bodom is part Speed Metal, but I wouldn't call Alexi a "speed metal guitarist" becuase they are predominately Power Metal, at least in their earlier works. Plus Speed Metal was pretty much invented by Judas Priest in like 1978 or even earlier maybe, Bodom's first release was in 1997. |
I thought it was 1995?
|
Bodom is NOT speed metal. Period.
Musically, their riffing is pretty substandard, aside from the keyboard parts, but the little leads and solos are quite excellent. |
