What are you gonna do? Throw Z customs at people? Use Aquarian heads as shields? Use 1B drumsticks to beat off your enemies? Just make sure you don't take any Hydro heads with you 'cause that'd really take the tone out of things.

Drum Phil 11-25-2005 07:30 AM

 nice one rich

If you are 100% about doing that, join the Royal Marines (if you are from the UK), as they are the best in learning music.

Jezen 11-25-2005 08:44 AM

Yeah I live in England. Also, military musicians don't fight...

In the marines you would be trained as a medic, so in theroy you could be a front line troop.

Jezen 11-25-2005 09:30 AM

Therefore I don't want to be a marine. I'm quite happy with being alive thanks..

God damn im bored

Phillip_schranck 11-25-2005 03:52 PM

Alright. As most of you probably already know. I am a beginner. I am wonering why people put duct tape on their drums. I dont know what it does or even where exactly it should go. I also want to know what the strategy is behind this. Does it make them louder?

Also could someone give a good description of all the cymbals, what they sound like, what kind of music they are mostly used in, where they should be on the set, if possible even songs that the cymbal is used in.

Althought I know the hi-hat is used in almost every song. Im not so sure about the others.

styler 11-25-2005 03:53 PM

god damn im bored too...anybody see the lang video yet?ive watched it like 40 times since i last posted

Postman Pie. 11-25-2005 03:54 PM

No, it dampens them. Gets rid of overtones, makes it quieter, if anything. Bad overtones can be killed with good tuning, and its best to let your toms ring anyway, especially live.

styler 11-25-2005 03:56 PM

makes them quieter, it reduces vibrations sent over the drums, its called muffling, and it can go anywhere on the drum, just not where you would actually hit the drum. it reduces ring/overtones

EDIT: beat me too it ^^ nice avatar man, love the christmas spirit

Seafroggys 11-25-2005 04:13 PM

Well i guess my drums arent going to the practice room any time soon :upset: The engine block was forced backwards and left (from the front on) so it nearly punched through the other side. Some woman pulled out of a junction without looking and the roads were slippy so she went into the front corner

Postman Pie. 11-25-2005 04:32 PM

Blimey.

At least you're okay.

Drum Phil 11-25-2005 04:33 PM
It's his name and I don't see anything wrong with the spelling of it.
I agree with poppin here. What the he meant was Where did he learn to spell. He didnt mean where di he learnt o spell his name he just meant where did he learn to spell, for example if I was to say to my friend Hannah Where are you going Hannah? I could also say where are you going? Without adding Hannah, he just qadded Loyton.

God I hope i'm right

Are you sucking up?

I just bought a Coheed and cambria cd. It has a big roman numeral 4 on it.

First impression was kinda acoustic, prog rock. Pretty catchy first "Real track" Nice lead part etc. Next handful of songs were ok, some getting repatative with the lead parts that sound near the same in everysong. Than finally came "wake up clean", IMO great song, Very laid back. The album started seeming popish until this song. Some pretty neat guitar pedal usage on later tracks, reminds me of Zeppelin, Allman bros.

Im not done with the album yet, But what do you guys think of this album?

Drum Phil 11-25-2005 06:51 PM
drummer54 and drum phil suk to!
You said you enjoyed it :upset:

Brokensticks 11-25-2005 06:52 PM

Never heard it, but I'll check it out.

Futuro 11-25-2005 06:54 PM
Never heard it, but I'll check it out.
Beware of the lead singer. High pitch vocals, IF you have listened to rush than you will be fine, But some people get caught off gaurd by higher vocals from a guy.

Janeway 11-25-2005 06:55 PM

Phil and Drummer54 got repped, but I can't decide wether to -rep or +rep Loyton.

Drum Phil 11-25-2005 06:55 PM

I thought he was a girl at first
