Kyle 05-02-2006 07:57 AM

I actually adore the new Pearl Jam CD.

JonM 05-02-2006 09:08 AM

I'm digging Divahn. They make kickass Jewish music with tablas and other cool instruments.

Awesome. I'll have a look on soulseek for it.

Robert Crumb 05-02-2006 12:33 PM

Dug Gnarls Barkley and Ellen Allien + Apparat yesterday. Bonus points for German electronic musicians! I'll be digging Tool and the RJD2 instrumentals for Magnificent City today.

Yeah I saw the new Snow Patrol in stores today when I was picking up the new Pearl Jam, I've never really liked them though.

Interstate 05-02-2006 01:49 PM

Orange Goblin - Coupe De Grace
Camera Obscura - Underachievers Please Try Harder

Odd mix but it works well.

Kyle 05-02-2006 02:02 PM
Orange Goblin - Coupe De Grace
Hey awesome! I saw Orange Goblin live on Sunday it was pretty amazing. They covered New Rose by The Damned, what a pleasant suprise!

YDload 05-02-2006 02:18 PM

Got the new Tool album. The packaging is interesting (stereoscopic!) and at least it justifies buying instead of downloading. The songs are pretty good as well. As a bassist, I'm seriously impressed with Justin's work on nearly every track of this album. Guitar-wise, I'm still disappointed that all of Adam's "solos" are identical to the one in "Reflection" from the last album.

Overall, if you want a mix of Lateralus and A Perfect Circle, you can expect it from this album.

Little Man being Erased 05-02-2006 02:36 PM

Morrissey - Vauxhall and I (love)
Ben Kweller - On My Way (better than I remembered but still average)
Roots Manuva - Awfully Deep (still just ok)
...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - Worlds Apart (love)

YDload 05-02-2006 02:51 PM

What's your favorite song on Worlds Apart? I love Caterwaul and A Classic Arts Showcase myself.

Little Man being Erased 05-02-2006 03:03 PM

Hard to remember but I know I love "Let it Dive" and "Caterwaul" and perhaps "Worlds Apart" too.

Zebra 05-02-2006 03:11 PM

Super Furry Animals - Love Kraft

One of my favorite albums of 2005.

Man I'd love to see them live, they sound like they could tear the house down.

Iai 05-02-2006 03:39 PM

Sonic Youth's Goo. A lot. This blows Daydream Nation out of the water in my opinion.

Kyle 05-02-2006 04:23 PM
Man I'd love to see them live, they sound like they could tear the house down.
Oh they did :D It was at Camden Underworld which has absolutely no securitiy or barriers too, so I got onto the stage about 8 times and danced around.
Sonic Youth's Goo. A lot. This blows Daydream Nation out of the water in my opinion.
Mote and Dirt Boots are probably two of SY's very best songs. I never understood why everyone generally dislikes Goo.

Murs - Murray's Revenge

Robert, I'm with you on this one.

Tangy zizzle 05-02-2006 09:43 PM

Springsteen and Cursive.

asymm 05-02-2006 10:28 PM

The Rapture - Echoes
It's been awhile since I've listened to this and it's still terrific. It's a great, great record. Many facets of emotion but maintaining the freedom and fun of rock music.

Idaho - Three Sheets to the Wind
Joy Division - Heart and Soul
Rose Melberg - Cast Away the Clouds
Vetiver - To Find Me Gone
Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth - Mecca and the Soul Brother
ya ya ya

1 Broadcast 36
2 Army Of The Pharoahs 19
3 Ladytron 16
4 Percee P 15
5 Mr. Lif 12
6 Darondo 9
7 Black Dice 8
8 Gilberto Gil/Jorge Ben 6
9 Four Tet 4
9 Os Mutantes 4

I know for a fact I listened to more Black Dice than that. Interesting list though, I guess. I failed to buy the Tool album today so no diggage for me. I'll have it by the end of the week. Don't you hate it when you go into a music store to buy something in specific and then find out they have the something-in-specific that you wanted to buy last time you were there, effectively derailing your sense of purpose? I think that only happens to me. I'm simple minded.

Icky_Mettle 05-02-2006 10:34 PM

I don't understand all the Gnarls love, the album really annoys me.

Shearwater-Palo Santo
Low Skies-All The Love I Could Find
P.O.S.-Audition
TV On The Radio-Return to Cookie Mountain
I'm From Barcelona-Let Me Introduce You To Some Friends

those are some of my favorites so far this year....other stuff I'm digging this year

Parts & Labor-Stay Afraid
Six Organs of Admittance-The Sun Awakens
My Latest Novel-When We Were Wolves

Robert Crumb 05-02-2006 10:57 PM
Rose Melberg - Cast Away the Clouds
I like what I've heard from this one but then again, I'm a softie. Badumcha. Gonna see her later this month, should be nice.

Can't be bothered posting my list up. I mainly listened to my cds this week. Today I'm digging some Built to Spill. "Untrustable Part 2" is wicked.

Tangy zizzle 05-03-2006 02:55 AM

I should be modding this forum.

Tangy zizzle 05-03-2006 04:17 AM

I'm really, really, really looking forward to the new Bronx album. I'm thinking the words "best" and "rock" will be used once I've heard it.

I want it NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
