drank some very nice micro brew this week. Probably never heard of it. It's called Victory : Hop Devil

IBU rating is probably in the high 80s, low 90s. Quite delicious. 6.7%. Brewed in my home state as well

Guiness is usually my bare minimum next to Sam Adams Boston Lager. Not my favorite or anything. It's pretty much a litmus test as to something has to be at least this good for me to spend money on it.

How'd the gig turn out?

benfan 04-30-2012 11:03 AM

The lod has advanced by more than a page since the last time I was here. Something fishy is afoot.....

The gig was spot on cheers, lots of folks jumping about, getting rowdy and throwing beer about :chug: i thought it was all going to kick off at one point as there were bodies going all over the place. Got pretty wasted afterwards as well so it was an all round good night. Guinness was consumed in quantity :)

kurrpt 05-01-2012 08:12 AM

I'm more of a extra stout Guinness fan myself. It's been a while

/ponders next beer purchase

gotta go look at about another 6 houses in the next week or so. the mrs. is pretty excited

Sad But True 05-01-2012 03:12 PM

Lod is the DL-4 worth the money.

tbh since i've been working down London way I've been getting into the local brews down there, some of which ar every nice indeed. guinness just packs too many calories which i then have to go and run off!

yeah looking at houses can be quite fun and yet frustrating at the same time. i bought an old one that hadn't been touched since the 70's so i'm currently workign my way through it and doing a complete refit.. joy! but i have got my own home studio and rehearsal room set up so it's all gravy.

mmm, i lusted after one for a while and then got over it but it's a quality piece of gear. if you need the sounds and have the cash it's a no brainer that one.

guitarbaz 05-02-2012 02:58 AM

still keep looking at Gibbo 335's and drooling.

tempted to put the Ricky 620 up for sale to raise some funds.

thoughts??

kurrpt 05-02-2012 06:53 AM

I might actually have room to set up my rig again once I move to a new place. I can't believe we've been living at our current address for almost 7 years.

yeah man, you need a room to play. for practice or just to get away and de-stress. has to be top of the agenda for a new place, just don't tell the mrs that!

kurrpt 05-02-2012 07:50 AM

I'll try to keep it under wraps.

I think we check out like 5 houses after work today. Ugg... sounds like more work than actual work

yeah it can be, if you're struggling to find what you want. been there! sometimes it gets a bit of blur and you can't remember one from the other. then again, you get to be nosey and look round other folks' houses

kurrpt 05-02-2012 08:47 AM

the first house we checked out looked some some serious fucked up shit went down there on a regular basis.

the outside yard/house looked very aged and needed work. Inside the house, the floors were gutted down to hardwood floors. they needed a new coat of stain and probably sanded, but not too bad.

the interesting part was when you go downstairs to the basement. at the bottom of the steps, there is a door with a plexiglass window. the door locks from the other side, meaning you would need a key to get in. once inside, there are speakers still mounted to the wall. there is a large home-made bar all along the back end of the room that had lights installed underneath. a sick was installed with a mini water heater. the room even had a lit exit sign showing where you can emerge from the basement in case of emergency.

it appears some sort of speak easy was there. not sure how that house went to foreclosure

Sad But True 05-02-2012 12:19 PM

I really, really dig how the DL-4 sounds but I can't help thinking I'd use more than 4 presets. I've been spoilt by rack gear and having 6 delay presets :(

a house with a bar in it? that just sold it to me!

you could have it as a little studio and place to go get beered up, all safe in the knowledge that there is an emergency exit!

as long as the rest of the house is just needing some cosmetic work it sounds a winner to me :smoke:

4? luxury. i have 2, and one of those is "off"!

but they'll be 3 of the best tho

kurrpt 05-03-2012 02:20 PM

that particular house needs a lot of work. not just grunt/labor, but investment. It's rather big, but the basement looked like it leaked something fierce if there was any significant precipitation.
