I'd really, really like a new album from Dolorian.

There's not enough twisted, truly dark doom/death like that.
Evoken comes close though, which is also awesome.

Nostalgia 04-17-2009 03:13 PM

I haven't listened to Dolorian in a long time. I believe I had "When all the Laughter has Gone"

jrowa001 04-17-2009 11:30 PM

i need me some Dolorian

imperialblackness 04-17-2009 11:39 PM

checkin it out now

FatalEnergy 04-18-2009 04:47 AM

My band played our second show tonight. Way better than our first show. Actually a decent turn out for a coffee shop. played in front of about 25 people and made $30, and got hella free coffee and pastries.

Overall a triumphant night of epic doom.

Phototropic 04-18-2009 05:28 AM

downloaded red album by Baroness the other day

liking it alot!

the singing reminds me of Torche a bit but still, s'all good

jrowa001 04-18-2009 08:45 AM

anybody heard of Leeches of Lore? theyre a stoner rock/metal band. pretty cool vocals and they have some killer riffs.

the2stranger 04-19-2009 11:03 AM

Sounds sweet.
But I can't listen to them.
Every time I open a myspacepage, my PC goes all crappy and bums out. :-\

I'm listening to My Dyig Bride - The Angel And The Dark River.
The Cry Of Mankind remains an epic song.

I really need to be in the mood for MDB though, whic happens like 4 times a year or so, but then it's really awesome. :p

Ventriloquist 04-19-2009 11:24 AM

Haven't listened to their 2009 album. Might get it.

the2stranger 04-19-2009 11:25 AM

I haven't either.
The most recent album I have is Songs Of Darkness, Words Of Light.
Which I like quite a lot actually.

jrowa001 04-19-2009 11:51 AM

MDB have never done anything for me

publicastration 04-19-2009 12:41 PM

they're hit and miss.

Songs Of Darkness, Words Of Light is great, and their old stuff is good, and so is A Line Of Deathless Kings.

I think they've lost it now though
Yeah but that album is terrible.
no it isn't stfu :(

Shattered_Future 04-19-2009 12:55 PM

I didn't like Songs Of Darkness one bit...I thought their newest was the best they've done in a while. I still love The Dreadful Hours most though, and The Angel And The Dark River.

publicastration 04-19-2009 01:15 PM

dreadful hours was boring

pate 04-19-2009 01:42 PM

The only good MDB is Like Gods of the Sun and a little from A Line of Deathless Kings. The old stuff can blow me. The new stuff other than the ones I mentioned can blow me. Death/doom in general can blow me, except for Saturnus.

RetiredAt21 04-19-2009 01:48 PM

I can't stand to listen to MDB anymore.

Nostalgia 04-19-2009 02:15 PM

Hey Lee, did you know Tom Phillips was planning to kill himself after releasing Sorrow of the Angles?

I didn't.

pate 04-19-2009 02:19 PM

Did not know. Is that the full length or the EP? I get the titles confused.

Nostalgia 04-19-2009 02:24 PM

That's the full-length. It's really interesting reading the history he wrote on WHW. His ex-girlfriend sent him this letter as to why the relationship wouldn't work anymore, around late Autumn I guess, and if you read some of the things she says it really puts into perspective almost all of the lyrics he writes. They all start to make sense.

Do you have a link to where they're playing in New York? I can't find anything.

pate 04-19-2009 02:26 PM

You mean the venue or the fest?

Nostalgia 04-19-2009 02:31 PM

Anything. I just want a link/tour dates, haha.

The first link has the correct confirmed lineup, and the second has venue info.

Nostalgia 04-19-2009 02:45 PM

Sweet. The second link appears to be dead, but I'm glad they're confirmed. I am definitely not missing this.

pate 04-19-2009 02:49 PM

Alright, go here and click on the Born Too Late fest under upcoming shows or whatever it's called:
