I dislike the image of that band enough to actually not want to check them out. I will eventually though. |

i don't like them specifically
they have at least two good songs, i've always liked this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlp59oPFAdc |
BTW Laibach:

"Neue Deutsche Todeskunst" according to wiki
|
wtf is that, i'm learning a new obscure industrial subgenre every day
my current favourite is probably death industrial, all the PE bands i've heard described as this are awesome |
a rough translation appears to be New German Death Art.
what does the one you mentioned mean? |
atmospheric, dense, metallic, lots of drones and screaming vocals from what I gather, stuff like Genocide Organ, Sutcliffe Jügend and Brighter Death Now seem to get tagged with it.
most of it overlaps with other power electronics subgenres but idk, it sounds cool |
its pretty easy to throw the word death in front of something and make a new sub genre
i should make a Pink and Yellow follow up band and call it Death Awkward Pop |
deathkraut is a genre I would one day like to see
|
would be legendary
i vaguely remember there might have been a time when i was thinking about working on some sort of thing called Industrial Death Pop. |
I remember you saying that as well
heiling some Monte Cazazza right now. do you also find Tiny Tears one of the most irritating things ever? |
I get it stuck in my head some times so apparently it's catchy
|
its pretty much just another Throbbing Gristle release
|
I find all the all the stuff at the end of the disc that are closer to conventional song structures to be annoying
|
some of the post-punk stuff I heard was pretty cool
I usually don't stick around that long though |
yeah i usually just listen to the dumb sound collages that are like little kids crying with gunshots ringing out in the back ground
|
so deviant
have you finished the Industrial Culture Handbook yet? |
i've only read like two or three pages so far honestly, i have a hard time with books
ill probaby dig in soon tho |
I read the whole thing in a week probably.
Not a lot of it really struck me as all that interesting back then (I didn't know any of these artists and didn't really listen to industrial music) but sometimes I pick it up and read it on the toilet :p |
haz what the best new wave be?
|
idk what you've heard but I like the following -
Devo - Freedom of Choice Talking Heads - Remain In Light Strawberry Switchblade - Strawberry Switchblade Orange Juice - Rip It Up Grauzone - Eisbaer Blondie - Blondie i'm more into the post punk side of things, new wave seems to be an interchangeable term with it though. this is some of the happier, more upbeat stuff |

the razor blades inside my soul inside my soul lol |

Remain in Light is gay, get the self-titled .
|
Theoretically it almost seems like it ceases to become new wave and becomes no wave or post-punk once there's a dark element, but I'm sure there are exceptions.
Try Suicide's debut, if you haven't. |
idk i just want to hear some synthed out **** that isnt too fast paced or upbeat with the airy atmospheric almost monotone vocals. like, depeche mode maybe? dark wave i guess the music is called im looking for.

there's enough monotony on this for two albums , if i recall correctly |
ill check it out. but yeah i guess 'dark wave' is what im looking for.
|

Chris & Cosey - Heartbeat gloomy synthpop, can't remember any vocals though
Remain in Light is gay
die in a house fire |
i have more talking heads and david byrne material than you
|
you do
but Remain In Light is ****ing awesome |
it's a great record, i just don't see why every one thinks it's their crowning acheivement
