my favourite song is probly N.I.B
your about 57 pages late

Josh 12-23-2004 04:05 PM
alright, who's your favorite member of Sabbath, if you don't mind me asking
hard to pick a favourite member....probably ozzy or geezer. although if you've got a bad head ozzy's voice can get annoying.

TerryThorne 12-23-2004 04:06 PM
I think the first album is by far the best. I like Ozzy's singing a lot more on that album.
I like his singing more on Master of Reality. He sounds pretty menacing on some of those tracks

TerryThorne 12-23-2004 04:06 PM

My fave is Geezer mainly due to me being a bassist

Josh 12-23-2004 04:07 PM

i havent heard master of reality (except for tracks that are on best of black sabbath)

Brew 12-23-2004 04:07 PM

Geezer is a great bassist, but lets not forget all the other bass players that Sabbath have had on their later albums.

Josh 12-23-2004 04:08 PM
My fave is Geezer mainly due to me being a bassist
i want to play bass, hence why i said geezer. ozzy is just an awesome guy.

Josh 12-23-2004 04:09 PM

who were the other bassists? (sorry i dont know much about history of sabbath, just like their music)

TerryThorne 12-23-2004 04:09 PM

His playing got me into bass

Brew 12-23-2004 04:11 PM
who were the other bassists? (sorry i dont know much about history of sabbath, just like their music)
I can't think of any off the top of my head, check out www.black-sabbath.com for full Sabbath history etc..

Josh 12-23-2004 04:16 PM

wow thats a complex band history. its going to take a few readings to make proper sense of.

Brew 12-23-2004 04:18 PM

Roughly 31 different incarnations of Black Sabbath have appeared over the past 30 years.

Works out to almost one line up per year.

Josh 12-23-2004 04:23 PM

wow. lol. thats quite impressive, more than most bands have managed. what would you guys prefer next, sabbath tour or ozzy tour?

Brew 12-23-2004 04:26 PM

I've seen Ozzy so a Sabbath tour of the UK would be kick-arse.

I know that Tony wants it to happen, I'm guessing that Ozzy, Geezer and Bill would be up for it.

Josh 12-23-2004 04:33 PM

i dont actually know who i'd rather see. because seeing sabbath would mean seeing ozzy as well, but none of ozzy's solo work would be played

TerryThorne 12-23-2004 04:33 PM

I need to Sabbath

Josh 12-23-2004 04:37 PM

also, shadow_stalker was going to see ozzy but then ozzy crashed his quad.

Brew 12-23-2004 04:40 PM

Yeh, I was going to see Ozzy when he first announced that tour. After the first post-ponement I got a ticket refund.

I saw him at Ozzfest 2002 though :)

Josh 12-23-2004 04:42 PM

**** you! lol not really. im just jealous. hopefully if theres a tour it will go to newcastle as i cant really travel much further, its 35 miles to there!
wow lord brummington (andy isnt it?) you have 5,500 posts! :thumb:

Brew 12-23-2004 04:44 PM

sack-man, I remember you from somewhere but I've no idea where it is.

Josh 12-23-2004 04:48 PM

i started posting in here in about the 30-40 pages i think...just havnt posted in here for a while. i havnt really been into sabbath for that long.

Brew 12-23-2004 04:51 PM

Ah, I had a feeling it was Sabbath-related.

Josh 12-23-2004 04:53 PM

well im off to get some much needed sleep. time to turn up the night. see you.

ToRidTheDisease 12-23-2004 04:57 PM

My new "New Year's Resolution" is to beat Andy with a higher post count.

...Sad goals.

Brew 12-23-2004 04:59 PM

Dude, it won't happen.

I came back to mx in November with a post count of about 2,800.

What does everyone think of The Mob Rules?
Any good?
(Is voodoo off it?)

blockhead 12-23-2004 05:34 PM

Favorite Member: Iommi. I mean he wrote all the classic riffs.

Brew 12-23-2004 05:40 PM

Voodoo is on Mob Rules.

Its a fantastic song.

The Sign of the Southern Cross is possibly my fav. song from Mob Rules.

ToRidTheDisease 12-23-2004 05:43 PM

/Just realized the years almost over.

...Nevermind Andy.

Have you heard the way Sign..fades into Heaven and hell on Live Evil?
That's pretty awesome.
p.s voodoo rules.

rippa32 12-23-2004 06:23 PM

Anyone have the Born Again album. I would like to know how good Ian Gillen (I think thats his name) sings on a sabbath album. And whats the actual music like as well?

Brew 12-23-2004 08:24 PM

I've got a few songs off Born Again, Gillans voice is...interesting.

His voice kinda fits the music and Sabbath style.

Also

Its xmas eve for me, and has been for over 2 hours.

I need sleep.

I think Heaven and Hell was their fav. song of the moment, they went back into it at the end of Paranoid aswell.

Great album.

Born Again is awesome. I second Andy in saying that Gillan's voice suits the Sabbath music. When I've heard Zero the Hero (on the best of) for the first time I was sure it was Ozzy singing. Though the mix on that album is just a bit annoying... too high-pitched, if you know what I mean. But otherwise BA is really a brilliant album. Thrashed, Disturbing the Priest, the Dark/zero the hero (one of the most awesome of Iommi solos I know), digital bitch and Born Again(the song)... are really great, I love them. I wish they recorded 1 or 2 more albums with Gillan... He is almost as great with Sabbath as Ozzy, and the Tony Martin. Another great singer. :thumb: Hey it's Christmas Eve! I think I will give everyone here some rep points as a gift. :thumb: :chug:

shadow_stalker 12-24-2004 04:31 AM
also, shadow_stalker was going to see ozzy but then ozzy crashed his quad.
**** right, and i was well pissed at that

but cant be helped will just have to go next time
wow. lol. thats quite impressive, more than most bands have managed. what would you guys prefer next, sabbath tour or ozzy tour?
I would say... Sabbath. If thay came here to Polan it would be sooo cool... It woud be cool even if Ozzy solo came... Or even with an Ozzfest, it would be also very alright. Argh. I wish I could see Sabbath at all in my life... :upset:

shadow_stalker 12-24-2004 04:37 AM

i would prefer an ozzy tour because sabbath dont come to places like newcastle, they tend to play birmingham and then fuck off back to america for another huge tour, they need to do a proper enland tour
