He said it, you proved it, there's not much left to it really.

Kage 02-16-2007 02:28 PM

How was that elitist?

Moon Flavor 02-16-2007 02:36 PM
How was that elitist?
Well, I suppose it wasn't elitist technically, but it was asshole-ish at the very least.

Kage 02-16-2007 02:37 PM

It was one of the most pointless songs I've heard, and what they were doing to create the pointlessness was ultra boring and gay.

Moon Flavor 02-16-2007 02:47 PM
It was one of the most pointless songs I've heard, and what they were doing to create the pointlessness was ultra boring and gay.
Maybe ultra boring to you, definitely not gay. Now, if they mic'd his sphincter and then tried to make pitches by rubbing a violin bow on his asshole, that'd be gay.

Every song is pointless.

If you don't like it, that's cool, I probably shouldn't either; but try not to be a dick about it.

Kage 02-16-2007 02:53 PM

Didn't mean to be a dick, sorry. Don't take what I say as being malicious, or seriously for that matter. I usually overstate the case with dry wit, tbh.

Quite understandable. I mean, I just went into detail on how you would play the asshole as an instrument.

So....how bout that post rock...?

Kage 02-16-2007 02:58 PM

'spretty boring.

denboy 02-16-2007 03:01 PM

yeah.. post rock is pretty boring... Except samuel jackson five

Eliminator 02-16-2007 03:21 PM

New Eluvium album is good.

bwnstl 02-16-2007 04:31 PM

Hella is pretty incredible I think. You have to take them in small doses though, and their later releases have really gotten into drone/noise-rock territory unfortunately. Seim is a really innovative guitarist/composer though with his use of "nintendo"-sounds (for lack of a better term) and Hill is one of the most insanely talented drummers in modern rock in my opinion. Sometimes when listening to him I find myself wondering if he has three arms, since it seems like that's the only way he could possibly do what he does.

BurningSky 02-16-2007 04:46 PM

I want to go to the EITS show in Philly, but I'll be in Ethiopia..:upset:

Dr. Jake Destructo 02-16-2007 05:48 PM

I think I'd rather live on rice than see EITS too.

Auberge le Mouton Noir 02-18-2007 03:21 PM

Anyone ever checked out Apse? I'm listening to their debut Spirit right now and I'm liking it very much. It's quite psychedelic, with a lot of tribal drumming and a heavy bass sound. Check out the song Shade of the Moor on their site: http://www.apsemusic.com/
I think I'd rather live on rice than see EITS too.
Apparantly even people that hate them think their live show is great.

Seeing them in April....AND I kinda like them. So it should be fun.

seeing 65DoS in May, yay.

You lucky bastard!

I'm hoping to catch EITS at Coachella this year. Are 65dos playing in the US any time soon?

LF96 02-20-2007 01:34 PM

I'm seeing EitS in less than a week, so I'll let you guys know how it was.

I'm quite pissed off that I missed Tortoise last week-end. I could've gone, but was rather sick, so it probably wouldn't have been much fun really. Certainly when seeing that the first guy who played is painfully noisy folktronica...

Kage 02-20-2007 02:07 PM

I'm seeing Red Sparowes on Friday. \m/

Txus 02-20-2007 06:02 PM

You are all bastards, especially for the 65DoS and Red Sparowes. RS put one of the best live shows ever.

What do you guys think of the new Pelican? I think it's awesome.

Mars Volta 02-20-2007 06:21 PM

I'm listening to the new Pelican now and I'm liking it.
They're playing near me in April, I think I'm going to get a ticket.

Silver Mt. Zion are playing as well but I can't get back from it at night :upset:

Nice! I wish I could catch ASMZ somewhere, I hear they put on some pretty cool shows.

Jesusmafia 02-20-2007 07:09 PM

i have become obsessed with Mogwai . . . they are my homework band . . .

Zebra 02-20-2007 07:27 PM

Right now I'm obsessed with Bark Psychosis' Hex, and have been the past few months.

Txus 02-20-2007 07:31 PM

Crap, I never got any Bark Psychosis' albums

I've been obsessed with Pelican lately, I think it's because of the new album.

You have the new Pelican? I wasn't even aware they had something out, how gay am I?
