What direction they're heading in after St.Anger.Methinks they'll get thrashier and (hopefully) start soloing,going back to a more Kill 'em All style metal.

I think metallicas realised that their old stuff was better than the new after all the slagging off everyones done toward them.... they were a great band ,still are and still can be.

Load was a poor album,only Ain't My Bitch ,leeding Me and Outlaw Torn were any good,and the latter sounded better on S&M.They won't make another album like Puppets but at least theyt're rediscovering what made them special in the first place.

st anger was quite a good album its just not wat everyone expected
their older stuff was good but they were ussually either drunk or stoned wen writing the songs :thumb:

As the resident Metallica expert, I don't want to see another album. Its a shame, and I love the band to death, but its for the best. If they kick out Bob Cock and do the album that the Black Album was supposed to be, cool, but if not then I don't want to hear it.

I think that Master Of Puppets is the best Met. song

They'll make another album in like 2-3 years probably. It won't be like old Metallica, but it will be as good as Re-load I would think, and I really liked Re-load. After that they should retire, they killed too many brain cells when they were younger to continue. :P

this might have been said, probably has, and if it has I'm sorry, but did anyone see them live on Dec 20th at Earl's Court? What did you think of dirty window with the solo in it? I thought it sounded a lot better, but thats just imo

So the general agreement is the best Metallica album is Kill 'Em All. But which do you like more...Master of Puppets, or Ride the Lightning? I personally like Master of Puppets more, but they both own.

I like Master of Puppets better, but they're both great great albums.

I think Lightning is better. Probably cus i can play more songs from Lightning that Puppets.

Ride the Lightning is better than Master Of Puppets for me. Master Of Puppets is kinda repetitive and all about the same thing. Ride The Lightning has a blend of different styled songs.

I still think Kill 'Em All is their best album though.

I only own MOP so I wouldn't know.

actaully my least favourite (aside from st.anger). I feel that was a lazy effort, even for a first release.

The only reason they went after Napster is because they stole a song from them that wasn't finished, I Disappear I think...that's why they went after them. Lars even said he doesn't care, as long as the song is finished and you get the full quality. And what the hell are you doing in the Metallica thread anyways, if you don't like metallica? Dumba$$

this, incase you didn't read back, was referring to Kill 'Em All. Not my personal favorite, but still a good album. They were releasing it underground, it was probably recorded live then polished up in a studio later. They did just release the whole album was recorded on a tape recorder anyways. No way a [i]lazy[/i] effort.
