It no longer says January on Victory's site. It says "image coming soon" for Keasby Nights though (yeah, there's no "vol. 2" it's just KN again)
So can someone explain this to me? Is the new Keasbey Nights a cover of the old one? Or does it have new SlM songs...

Liebensaft 11-02-2005 02:31 PM

If it's all the original songs on Keasbey, it'll sound exactly the same as when Catch 22 did it.

There is no new material.

Berserker! 11-02-2005 02:40 PM

SLM are playing a show 10 miles away for me. I could easily get there.

BUT IT'S 18 GODDAM PLUS

Scabies 11-02-2005 02:52 PM

The Underworld? Anyone can get in there!

Berserker! 11-02-2005 02:53 PM

Nah, The Kingston Peel

Scabies 11-02-2005 02:59 PM

Oh right, yeah i've heard that place is pretty strict. Its a shame, seeing SLM like twice in a week would be amazing.

Heh. Keasbey Nights is a masterpiece, but I hope they at least do something different.

KingOfSka 11-02-2005 03:56 PM
Heh. Keasbey Nights is a masterpiece, but I hope they at least do something different.
True that, but still even if it's exactly the same, I'll still buy it.

albert_bass 11-02-2005 04:55 PM

uhm...If it's just the same, what's the point in buying it?

Besides...I expect so much from them, I just refuse to believe it will be a bad remake.

mr.k 11-02-2005 05:10 PM

i doubt that it will be a bad remake of the first one

Liebensaft 11-02-2005 06:14 PM

Any remake will be a good one as long as Thomas is singing. They released Everything Goes Numb in 2003 I believe. They're very due for new material, and an album of just Catch 22 covers would be dull and disappointing.

maco 11-02-2005 08:13 PM

I'm hoping for a Point/Keasby Nights/Counterpoint recording and maybe something combining EGN with 9mm as those two seem to go together quite well.

jettadude77 11-02-2005 08:25 PM

it's not a catch 22 cover album. they have all new material. they have performed two of the new songs (parts of them at least) at their recent shows. there are mp3s and videos around the internet of the new material.

this is a video of about a minute and a half of the new song then the go into day in day out by catch 22

Henrik 11-03-2005 04:58 AM

AWSOME AWSOME AWSOME. Sounds good to me, and I didn't know they did Day in and out live.

How many Keasbey Nights songs have they did in total?
I can think of 5...
Dear Sergio, Keasbey Nights, Giving up giving in, 9 mm(?), Day in and out...more?

albert_bass 11-03-2005 05:11 AM

Dear Sergio
Sick And Sad
Keasbey Nights
Day In Day Out
Walking Away
Giving Up Giving In
Riding the 4th wave
On & On & On
This One Goes Out To...
Super Nothing
9mm & A Three Piece Suit
Kristina She Don't Know I Exist
As The Footsteps Die Out Forever
1234 1234

I can't wait for the remake of Riding the 4th wave

Henrik 11-03-2005 07:15 AM

I meant how many KN covers streetlight have made.

albert_bass 11-03-2005 07:18 AM

oh yeah...haha sorry.

Henrik 11-03-2005 10:34 AM

NP
If it comes to a remake of Keasbey Nights I look most forward to 1234 1234. That song is amazing but I think Tomas can make it even better.

Liebensaft 11-03-2005 02:30 PM

After falling in love with Keasbey Nights, I heard SM's album and immediately connected those two songs.

AIRIC 11-03-2005 02:31 PM

Yeah, they're definintely related.

P/KN/CP is how Streetlight performs it. They'll be playing P/CP and then break into KN and then back into P/CP

Liebensaft 11-03-2005 04:42 PM

I wasn't aware of that. That's pretty cool. Oh, and I just learned the intro to A Better Place, A Better Time. It just sounded nice, so I looked for a tab. By the way, the bass tab for it here on mx doesn't work.

Thats all of them. They cover a song off of the Rules of the Game demo called I'm Better than You.

They won't be re-recording Keasby Nights. That note by them came out like a year and a half ago and probably signaled an album/ep they would release to hold fans over between Everything Went Numb and the new album they're releasing in the near future.

But they never got around to recording it and they probably never will.

Keasby Nights II was only on Amazon and Victory. If you wanted to make money, put the bet on the fact that some exec at Victory thought calling the next album they release Keasby Nights II would create a lot of buzz and people on forums everywhere would be discussing what that ment.

Don't trust a damn thing unless it comes from Thomas. That man controls the band with an iron fist.

Yeah, I'm not good enough on bass to play an SM, I don't think. I think I could handle some KN, but idk, so I have no idea on accuracy.

Liebensaft 11-04-2005 05:57 AM

Well I'm pretty sure the bassist in SM uses a 5-stringer most of the time which could be difficult to replicate with 4 strings. But that intro is slow and all high notes.

maco 11-04-2005 08:41 AM

I forgot about the 5 string thing...yeah, 4 strings would require shifting down the neck a little more often than he does...I've only tried That'll Be the Day and Here's to Life I think. As far as Catch, on Keasby Nights I need to pick up speed a lot and get the rhythm down. I attempted Walking Away and *wow*! That's haaard. Actually, my teacher was like "I can't even play this...this'd take like a half hour straight of just this song and nothing else every day for a month for me to get." An upright would help for that though I think since there are some things in there that just don't work without fretless.

superskankinactionhero 11-04-2005 09:06 AM

point/counterpoint is fun to play on bass and not that hard
