I was reading about 6025 today. Apparently he's a schizophrenic born-again Christian now who got a punk show shut down at Gilman St. because there were two women on stage having sex with a banana.

Brain Toad 03-11-2006 08:58 PM

Such a long way from writing Religious Vomit hah.

Liebensaft 03-11-2006 08:58 PM

That's a double-you tee effer if I've ever seen one.

Buzzbomb 03-11-2006 09:02 PM

There is a old video on google video of Dead Kennedys playing California Uber Alles which also has 6025 on guitar.

Nerdcore753 03-11-2006 09:05 PM

Yeah, I think it's on Google Video. I'm pretty sure their old drummer is in that too (Ted?).

Brain Toad 03-11-2006 09:06 PM

Ted indeed.

Ha ha, I thought that said bandana instead of banana for a second and I was thinking what the hell???

That's pretty crazy though.
yeah, my friend picked up Give Me Convience or Give Me Death and i like it. we trade CD's once in a while so we listen to the same music. i liked it in all but the beginning fillers with that lady talking with a crappy jam in the background is what pisses me off.
yeah that intro thing is retarded.

sketchyjoe 03-19-2006 07:59 AM

I like the intro and outro to PSD.

Brain Toad 03-19-2006 01:27 PM

Last night I was looking at my DK videos and I found what I don't remember watching. It was a video of them performing Forest Fire on Belgian TV in 1980. But it wasn't a ture live performance, it was more like a music video, with them lipsyncing/playsyncing to a recording.

This became evident when Jello knocks of DH's drumset, but the drums continue going. Jello goes running around the drumset, stopping sometimes to lipsynch the words. DH starts playing the set from odd angles because of what Jello did. Then he ventually strips to his tighty whities and is parading around some more. EBR is staying out of it for the most part. Klaus just looks like a retard who has never picked up a bass before and is holding it very awkwardly. Near the end Jello is still jumpin around in his underwear and eventually hopes on Klaus' back and starts ****ing with his bass.

It was hilarious.

sketchyjoe 03-19-2006 01:30 PM

I've got that one. It's my favourite.

I love the moment when Jello throws off the dressing gown and starts jumping about in his underwear.

2muchket! 03-19-2006 02:49 PM

I've got a video of a gig of Holiday in cambodia and Jello dives into the crowd, he gets jumped on and then thrown back on stage. Its quite brutal really.

BlastFunk03 03-23-2006 09:44 PM

Does anyone know where to find footage of Jello debating Tipper Gore on Oprah? So far I only have the audio.

(r)evolution 03-23-2006 09:48 PM

can i get that audio?

Mechanix72 03-26-2006 07:54 PM

I have to say Police Truck is one of the best songs by DK, following closely is Pull My Strings.

Brain Toad 04-15-2006 02:28 PM

*bump*

Remember how I had 3 copies of Frankenchrist on CD? I've finally figured out the difference between all three.

The first is the original CD release of the album on Alternative Tentacles. It has the year (1985) and the note about the poster being recalled and asking for donations to the Legal Defense Fund. The actual CD has no sticker and has the words printed on it.

The second is the CD reissue on Alternative Tenetacles. This has a AT catalog from Fall 2000, before the rest of the band sued Jello and told him to stop putting out their CDs on his label. This again has the note about the poster being recalled, but does not ask for donations to the fund. The actual CD is a reddish brown color with the AT logo, and band and album name.

The third is the remaster issue from Manifesto records. The back replaces the AT logo with the DK logo, with a little Manifesto logo in the corner. The booklet tells the story of the trial as well, with more added and no mentions of donations to the Legal Defense Fund. Plus there is more pictures in the booklet. The actual CD is white with two people wearing fezes.

The two AT releases contain little coupons you clip to send off for the poster, but it's hard to tell if it is an actual promotion or not (they ask for SSI number, Draft registration number, religion and sexual preference).

Nice to finally figure it out. I was going to sell one, but now that I know the true difference, I probably won't.

Flagjacket 04-15-2006 02:35 PM

Speaking of trial, did we have that discussion in here?

I think the Dead Kennedys are right, despite being the lamest band ever right now.

Brain Toad 04-15-2006 02:41 PM

I don't think either side were right. Both had good points, but both had some really stupid reactions to the entire thing.

Jello shouldn't've held royalities from the rest of the band. The rest of the band shouln't've tried to put the songs in commercials, etc.

But the band also shouldn't've been assholes about Jello putting out their albums, then putting out remasters and live albums without even talking to him about it.

And Jello's constant bitching about what the band did is really annoying.

Johnny Quest. 04-15-2006 03:10 PM

Thinking of buying a DK CD, any idea where I should start?

Brain Toad 04-15-2006 03:26 PM

Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables is the best place to start, then move chronologically from there.

Danger Bird 04-15-2006 04:07 PM

Hey guys, PSD/IGWT are the greatest, especially The Taser.

ForThePunx76 04-16-2006 06:46 PM

awesome profile, good 'ol Jello. -currently wearing his dk shirt as he happily reads the profile on Jello and the rest of Dk-

secret 77 04-16-2006 07:10 PM

i was watchin some dead kennedys videos on youtube yesterday, their shows seemed crazy. i wish i couldve seen them with jello.

Weezerfan_returns 04-28-2006 11:50 AM

The In God We Trust DVD is pretty cool. The live stuff is half great, half so-so.

AIRIC 04-28-2006 01:48 PM

What's the download pending thing

Gnarmageddon 04-28-2006 02:01 PM
Hey guys, PSD/IGWT are the greatest, especially The Taser.
Wasn't "The Taser" on the Witchtrials EP?

Brain Toad 04-28-2006 02:40 PM
The In God We Trust DVD is pretty cool. The live stuff is half great, half so-so.
It was interesting, would've been better had EBR and DH been miked.
What's the download pending thing
Means I was downloading it as I was posting last night, it's downloaded now. That's what sparked the list, I found a new bootleg and a new demo/EP.
Wasn't "The Taser" on the Witchtrials EP?
I think it was. I like that EP despite it's non-DKness.

Johnny Quest. 04-30-2006 01:31 PM

Don't if any of you have seen this, but i just stumbled upon a video of the DK's and their latest 'singer', check it out

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZkCofC_pKQ&search=Dead%20Kennedys

That is just plain awful.

Brain Toad 04-30-2006 01:36 PM

The video they have on their site? It's pretty bad. Klaus looks hilarious with his grey hair though. And EBR is way more active on stage than he used to be. Probably because he doesn't have Jello jumping all over the place, Penalty doesn't have the showmanship of Jello.
