yeah the lil mini solo he does before is really cool then he leads it into that. its pretty rad. but nothing beats the intro before vitamin...lil hiphopness
|
I know he uses Mesa/Boogie 2x12 combos. Lay off the distortion a little and play with the neck pickup on.
He actually switched over to a Vox AC30 or something like that for ACLOTM. |
Does he have any sponsors like PRS, cause he uses them alot

He used to play PRS guitars (Custom 22's and 24's, Hollowbody II's I believe, a Custom McCarty Hollowbody which was reportedly his favorite guitar ever at one point) and Mesa Boogie amps (2 Tremoverbs or Rectoverbs if I remember correctly) but he has switched to Fender (Authentic '65 Jazzmaster and an assortment '62 American Reissue Jazzmasters. He also has numerous Strats and Teles of which I do not know the model) and a Vox + Marshall combo (Vox AC30 212, I'm not sure about the Vox). |

I dunno, Sick Sad Little World is pretty awesome, and that solo... |

It's a Marshall Plexi Lead 100 with two 212 cabinets. The AC30 is his clean amp. The tone driver pedal in front of it is to give it a bit of a high/mid boost. The Plexi Lead is his distortion amp. Mike's guitar tech modified it to have more gain than it normally would. It kinda sounds like shit in my opinion, especially live. |
God, he has realy changed his set up, that would probaly explain his new sound
|
Do you's reckon mike could shred? My mate reckons he could

Lol we're like the resident Einziger geeks. |

the first movement of the oddessy is pretty close to shreding, or as close to it as i see mike getting to it |
Most of Fungus is much harder to play than the Crow stuff.
Er. No. |
Do you's reckon mike could shred? My mate reckons he could
Listen to the song "Priceless" and "Psychopsylociban". He is pretty quick. |
Er. No.
Why? Crow is full of short, simple solos (except for SSLW and Priceless), power chords, etc... Iīve never seen a single Tab for the "Trouble in The 421" solo, and the "Deep Inside" (from SCIENCE) solo is the bitchest thing ever played by Mike, I think even he himself doesnīt know how to play it anymore... Iīm not saying "oh, their funkier sound was much better", but it was just much more technical and guitar centered. I donīt think the next album will be a lot better than Crow in terms of guitar playing, Mike holds his skills too much, itīs a shame :upset: , heīs one of my favorite guitarists. |

A lot of that stuff was improvised, especially when performed live. They can't play Azwethinkweiz anymore because they forgot it (Brandon said after attempting to finish it something along the lines of, "Maybe someday someone will teach it to is all the way through and we can say we played Azwethnkweiz") if anything is technical it's the Crow stuff. And I agree with you about him holding his skill, sometimes I wish he would just senselessly show off, but I don't think he's all about the shredding you know? I love his solos like the ones in Monuments and Melodies, Neither of Us Can See, and Southern Girl. |
Crow is full of short, simple solos, power chords, etc.
And the rest of the albums aren't? Most of the stuff on Crow involves much more than power chords.
And the "Deep Inside" (from SCIENCE) solo is the bitchest thing ever played by Mike, I think even he himself doesnīt know how to play it anymore...
That solo does sound very impressive, but in reality it's one of the easier things he's played. And yes, he still knows how to play it. It's very simple. For the most part, you're right. Crow isn't a very complex or difficult album to play. But compared to their other albums, it is. |

They played around with time signitures a little more, there is more jazz influence it seems like, and his chord progression choices are amazing. |
Is there a time/date set for a new Incubus album?
Sorry, I probably should have read a few pages first, and this is taking it waaay off-topic. But much <3 for Incubus. :D |
I figured that, I was talking about Azwethinkweiz. |
my mate who is a drummer thinks that the song "warning" cannot be played. I reckon it is playable, do you?
|
I figured that, I was talking about Azwethinkweiz.
 Huh? I'm talking about the Deep Inside solo. |

Is it the ride thing he can't get? I think that's what my brother thought was impossible a long time ago. |
It's not too hard. The crash/china hits at the end of the song can be hard I guess.
|
yeah, pasillas is a pretty good drummer
|
the deep inside solo is farking sweet, as is the priceless solo!
