Well it's pretty boring, just for the fact you can't hear the guitar half the time. I got [I]Mortal Way of Live[/I] which is Sodom's 87/88 live album, and well it's thicker, but the drums over power the guitars again.

Savage Death's Crucified in Hell beats Obssessed By Cruelty in bad production. CiH has TERRIBLE production, lo-fi guitar sounds and bass rumbling in the background with crappy scream/growls.

Hahah, I have demos of my band that sound worse than [I]Obsessed by Cuelty[/I]. It just irritates me that I can't tell what the hell the guitar is doing half the time, because the snare and hi-hat are so loud.

I'm not really a person that is critical about production. I love to listen to old demos and stuff, but if I can't make out riffs. That's when there's a problem

Im trying to say that Darkness Descends sounds like another song .. the main riff sounds like its from a slayer song or something.

I can't think of any Slayer, but one of the riffs in the beginning sounds like One.

I dont know who but that riff at 40 seconds sounds extremly familiar.



EDIT - Nevermind I found out that the slayer song which i thought it sounded like was not actually a slayer song ... it was the same death angel song but under the name "Slayer - God hates us all" ..

Their riffs just don't stand out. They just seem to be really really average and generic.

Anybody a fan of this band? I have "Pøíjezd krále" and "Sabat v Carnegie Hall". These guys produce some of the most original thrash metal I've ever heard :eek:

They have keyboards in it too, and it actually works!

Its more technical, more gutteral vocals, louder keyboards, better production. Overall, if you like Nocturnus, I'd say buy it.

Anyone heard of Demiricous or Legions of the Damned. Legions of the Damned is a brutal thrash band with blackish vocals, killer riffs, drums and production. Demiricous is a new straight foward thrash band. I'd highly recommend them.

Is anyone into Excel? I just got into them recently. They used to hang with Suicidal Tendencies back in the day.

Just like basic metal I guess. Some people refer to them as "groove" metal though. They have way too much melody to be thrash.

Groove metal is a legitimate genre. It's sort of post-thrash. Machine Head are also groove metal.

New Lamb of God sounds a lot like Pantera, but much better. Their old stuff kind of does too. You could try Damageplan; They're a side project Dime + Vin had. Other than that i'm not really sure. I guess it's legit, I see it used a lot.
