I watched the Fly last night. It should have been better but it's still great (and disgusting).
Tonight I'll probably watch The Descent, Big Fish and maybe another one. My weekend is going to be movies + writing + studying. Staying in all weekend. |
German is easy, the only thing that can be mildly confusing is the whole way of saying different words when you talk about certain items or people. A lot of the words are the same too.
Big Fish is an awesome movie. |
I haven't seen Big Fish in a while but I remember it being very entertaining.
French is a pretty hard language to learn. It's full of rules, but every rule has another hundred exceptions.
that was correct as far as my horribly underused and rusty french can recall. well, it's "intellectuel" not "intellectual", but close enough.
yeah its been really hard, i think its been hard because in just a couple days we were already learning sentences and stuff. i knew it was intellectuel, damn. je ne suis pas de tout intellectuel lol |
What should have been better about it?
Seemed rushed. I felt like the plot and characters should have had more time to develop. I liked that they jumped right into the plot from the beginning but Geena and Jeff's characters (brainfart) could have been further developed to make their struggle a little more powerful. I mean I loved it, I just thought it could have taken it's time a little more. Still, to this day it's absolutely disgusting and I love that about it. |
I agree with you actually. I think that's something that always sort of nagged at me about it, but I never really thought of it that way until you said it.

Definitely. French is actually my first language and I'm horrible in grammar. Much better in English. |
Hey Stormrider you got MSN or AIM? :D Just add me if you want.
Definitely. French is actually my first language and I'm horrible in grammar.
Much better in English.
What I noticed when I was studying French almost exclusively is that the "English" kids had memorized the conjugations of every single verb but couldn't speak a single word, whereas all the Francophone kids spoke "perfect" French without even paying attention to the rules. French is definitely way too confined by linguistic purism.
I agree with you actually. That's why people who don't naturally speak English are very concerned about getting the grammar right, so they speak correct English, where as our president can't even complete a full sentence with out a grammatical mistake.
THA'LL LEARN YA! |

Well, English is a rare language in that it's dominated by colloquialisms and non-literal sayings. And George Bush definitely isn't a standard anyone should be associating with anything. Ever. |
The only thing that sucks in German is telling time. I hate that.
|
I'd learn German just to yell at people. I wouldn't learn anything other than angry sayings.
|
The only thing that sucks in German is telling time. I hate that.
hahahahaha, so true. I love German, though. |
It's easy to tell time if it's like half past something, 'cause then you just stick halb between the two times and you're fine, haha.
|
We have not gotten to telling time. Right know we are just learning to say different things like "to hike" or "to swim" and the different variations and stuff.
|
lol @ u
I like how you say German is easy and yet you have not gotten to any of the complex sentence structure things. |
Telling time in Swedish is awful. I hate it so much.
In other news, I am the biggest arsehole in the history of mankind. |

I like how you say German is easy and yet you have not gotten to any of the complex sentence structure things.
Well, so far it is easy, I am just saying I have not had any trouble with it. So idk maybe I shouldn't have said that. |

I can't handle long distance and so I broke my girlfriend's heart. |
How long distance are we talkin'?
|
Townsville to Boston.
We're talking met in Australia, fell head over heels in love, promised faithfully that long distance would work (despite me knowing I am bad at it) then me breaking her heart five months later. |
It's better that you did this rather than dragging it out.
|
Yeah, but that's cold comfort isn't it. She's blaming herself, Christ I am such a loser.

That's natural, though. You just have to make sure you keep reassuring her that it's not her fault. I had the same thing happen to me when my last ex broke it off. Swore all the same stuff you did, but had a really ****ed up relationship based in secrecy. When she ended it I went through a huge phase about things I should/shouldn't have done, but I got over it. In the long run I'm glad she ended it. Now, almost a year later (after still being in contact) Im at the point where we can actually be friends again. It's hard but trust me, had you continued this on you'd hate yourself even more. And she'd be right-out pissed. |
I know, she's just being so supportive and caring and wonderful about it. It's tearing me up inside, like she's the one at fault, not me. It's the difference between shooting a mangy, hardened serial killer and shooting a small puppy.
I always thought you would break my heart I just was willing to let it happen because I loved you so much
|
Jesus, that's rough.
|
That sucks Jason. =/
