Lol...nice one Ryan.

D666 owns, and I've seen a similar saying like that on all the Emilo Zapata shirts we have here in my city.

He seemed like a really cool and wise warrior though.

/pride within my culture, bitches :D

Hmm, I'm currently listening to the 'Eyes of Horror' EP by Possessed. Interesting listen indeed and a much cleaner production than Seven Churches. what's everyones opinion on it?

The Eyes Of Horror is a solid little thrash EP. The riffing is fresh and original, and its a good continuation of what they had going on Beyond The Gates.

ThrashMaster27 08-07-2005 01:17 AM

I still don't have Beyond The Gates. Probably should go about looking for it sometime soon. From what I've heard it differs to Seven Churches slightly, which isn't really that much of a concern, aslong as it's a decent record.

NP: Coroner - Spectators of Sin (Clever intro :D)

Beyond The Gates is a very solid and competent thrash record, and is one of my favorites. It's definitely thrashier than Seven Churches, I'll tell you that.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-07-2005 01:28 AM

I've been meaning to get The Eyes Of Horror, I always forget though >_>

MAthiAS 08-07-2005 01:30 AM

Which reminds me... I still need to get those Mantas demos :D

/me slaps Jon

Definitely get it sometime.

Chris: Yes, get them.

ThrashMaster27 08-07-2005 01:53 AM

Speaking of Death, I heard Leprosy for the first time a few days ago. Rick Rozz is an annoyingly crap Lead Guitarist. Thank god they replaced him with James Murphy. At least the Schuldiner/Murphy attack worked.

Low Life = Best Death duel.

RCA 08-07-2005 01:56 AM

Human > Leprosy

Sein Reinert on drums = ORGASM

Apocalyptic Raids 08-07-2005 01:59 AM

I got Live In L.A. last night, its pretty good, but I hate those ultra clean sounding live records with guitar low in the mix. Similar to Rude Awakening.

On another note, this is what Ted Aguilar from Death Angel had to say about the new Exodus:
Sad to hear about Rick. But he did 22 years of brutal fun

But I did hear the new EXO. It ****ing CRUSHES!!!!!!! Bostaph's best drum work since Forbidden's Twisted Into Form. Don't get me wrong, he did great in Slayer (live & on record), but when I heard his drumming on this record, it blows everything he did in Slayer away!!!!!! IMO Rob Dukes sounds amazing. Great vocal work. The riffs? Well, we all know Gary is the man when writing the riffs. Overall, a ****ING 10 for this record!!!
RCA 08-07-2005 02:03 AM

Well, seeing how Death Angel haven't written anything good since The Ultra-Violence, anything could "fucking crush" in their eyes.

But Ted knows his thrash, so I guess you trust him, kinda.

hey you lot, i'm in at hotel in New Orleans atm.

So far i've bought Overkill - Taking Over and Hades first 2 CD's reissue.

Going out in a few hours to find the used CD shops.

I got it a while ago, but I watched it again last night. I always wonder what songs Chuck 'had to cut out'.

Chuck: Good to see the metal scene is alive and well in LA.
Fan: THANKS TO YOU!!!

Ulysses Siren is fucking awesome. If you like them, you should try out Jon Torres other bands, like Warning S.F. and Laaz Rockit (although you've probably heard LAaz Rockit).

Pandfair 08-07-2005 01:23 PM

I just downloaded Above The Ashes today. I haven't listened to it all yet, but so far I like it.

I like the Laaz stuff i have, what band has ripped off/covered the song Leviathan? I've heard that opening riff before somewhere

You're thinking of Warning S.F. and their song "The Noose".

Jon Torres is in Warning S.F., and US hasn't been around for awhile. He's allowed to take his riffs with him.

DisposableHeroes 08-07-2005 01:47 PM
You're thinking of Warning S.F. and their song "The Noose".
Aha. Are you sure they are the only ones who have done it? I just remember hearing that riff on a compilation i think, but it wasnt Warning doing it

I heard over on the Heathen boards that Jon was considering getting involved in Ulysses again, but I guess he is kinda tied up with Heathen and Warning.

I don't know of any other band that's covered that song.

Yeah, Jon is quite busy. It would be cool if US started playing shows again soon, but I want this new Heathen pretty damn badly. :p
