I think Master's Apprentices and By The Pain I See In Others are the best on there. The former for the kickass riffery, the latter for the kickass vocalry.
|
Where is the Wreath love? :(
But yeah, BTPISIO is my favorite song of Deliverance. |
That album is really solid. Aside from A Fair Judgement, every song is one of Opeth's best.
|
I like A Fair Judgment but I agree, it's the weak point of the album.
NP: Opeth - Deliverance |
I love all songs on Deliverance, A Fair Judgment being the weakest. I find it's much better live, and that guitar solo is extremely good. But the rest of the song is fairly average.
|
I dislike Deliverance.

At least you told us why, thanks. |

That's my second favorite on the album, after the title track. |
It's supposedly the heavier of the two, but half of it is soft.
I love the intro to Master's Apprentice. |
Best part of the album right there. It's so simple, but my ****ing God, it KILLS.
|
I'm listening to BTPISIO as we speak, OMG THIS SONG IS SO GOOOD!!!! :D
|
I think the rest of Master's Apprentices is way better than the intro. I actually hated the intro when I first heard it.
|
I thought it was really boring, but I felt in love with the song afterwards.
|
I didnt like TMA until i saw some kiuds covering it.
|
^^ They did an excellent job, Googlevideo right?
|
Yes.
|
I think A Fair Judgement balances out the album. Out of all the songs, I think it has the best lyrics on Deliverance. They fit so perfect with my past, one of my favorite Opeth songs.

I never thought the lyrics of that song were so great (the vocal melodies, on the other hand...) I think it's the rhyme scheme. Usually I have no problems with that rhyme scheme or with Opeth using one that's restrictive (Face of Melinda has awesome lyrics) but IMO they just don't "work" on that song. Masters Apprentices: First 5 minutes = meh, second 5 minutes = f****mazing In other news, I'm on break from work right now. I was just filling out my time sheet for today when I noticed that the last name of another summer assistant they just hired is Opet. What the hell? That's pretty \m/. What really matters though is if she's hot or not. I really hope so. I'm sick of just old ladies being around all the time. |
A hot girl with last name Opet = amazing

Dude if you get her in the sack you need to growl "Demon! Demon of the fall!" the whole time. |

That turns em on like nothing I've ever seen. Guys chill out though. With my luck she will make Mikael look like a hotchick. |
hahaha Mikael isn't the best looking of guys.
|
I think that's what he meant.
|
I think he knows that's what he meant :p
|
I think I know you think he knows what he meant.
|
I could be gay and continue but I won't haha :p
You're missing a that btw <.< |
Righto, I have Blackwater Park, Deliverance, Damnation and Still Life - Where do I go next?
NP: Benighted - Has to be almost my fave Opeth song. |
I think stormrider is right.

Follow MAYH up with Ghost Reveries.
|
Oh, he doesnt have Ghost Reveries, I didnt see that.
Get that first. |
Two votes for Ghost Reveries...
I'll get that then, twas the one I was planning on getting because I saw it for about 5 quid in the local music shop  |
Five quid, you bastard! I had to pay about 10.
|
I paid $16 bucks for it, Canadian.
I dont know how that translates in quid form. |
It's about £7.70. CDs are generally expensive in the UK.
|
I hear you, they're expensive here too sometimes. It was more like $26 for Blackwater Park, $28 for Still Life. I think they re-released Still Life, so it's probably not to 'spensive anymore.
|
That's what amazon is there for. I've gotten all of my Opeth albums either by them being presents or cheap used copies.

If you're going to buy, at least support the band! Buying used copies doesn't bring any revenue to the musicians. When I do occasionally buy, I buy new. I like knowing that the money is going to the people who brought me the music, and not some lard who sits on his arse all day buying and selling CDs. |

The ones that I bought new were: Deliverance, Damnation, and Morningrise. Orchid and MAYH were impossible to find so I had to get them online, and Still Life and Blackwater Park were both going for so cheap on amazon that I couldn't help but get it. |

 No need to prove your innocence to me, I was simply stating an opinion. :thumb: |
