The Negation 07-12-2006 07:03 AM

I love Aura Noir. Black Thrash Attack = face melting. The Merciless wasnt nearly as good and Dreams like Desert was alright as well.

The Negation 07-12-2006 07:09 AM

Necromancia, yay or nay?

Apocalyptic Raids 07-12-2006 07:18 AM

Yeah, The Merciless wasn't as good as Black Thrash Attack or Deep Tracts of Hell. It was still rather enjoyable though. Funeral Thrash \m/

I've never heard any Necromancia.

The Negation 07-12-2006 07:42 AM

I really want to see them live, but unfortunately i havent had the chance. Necromancia are a pretty old Brazillian Thrash band. I dont know if theyve split up or not but I know they released an album back in 2004 after a 10 year break. Needless to say that album was pretty mediocre in comparison to their older stuff. Their website doesnt seem to be working but i did find this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6bq3r3KRLw

Apocalyptic Raids 07-12-2006 08:22 AM

Yeah, I looked them up, and the label was Thrash/Groove Metal.

The groove part put me off. I might check out the old stuff, since I suspect the Groove label is because of the new material.

The Negation 07-12-2006 08:27 AM

Yeah their older stuff is a lot better than their newer stuff, which seems to be the case for a lot of bands really.
And there have been stranger labels... [zombie hip hop springs to mind]

Terrorzone 07-12-2006 06:02 PM

Hey, does anyone know where you can buy Morbid Saints rerelease of Spectrum of Death and Destruction System?

Bazarov 07-12-2006 06:03 PM

I do believe I've seen a copy on Amazon.com once, I have for sure seen this one on Ebay. But I think it was just for SoD

Terrorzone 07-12-2006 06:07 PM

Yeah, thats what I was afraid of. Its so expensive. So be it.

Anyhoo, was there talk of Nocturnus without me. Oh dear of love this band. I have recently been listening to Ethereal Tomb. I haven't formed an opinion of it yet.
Hey, does anyone know where you can buy Morbid Saints rerelease of Spectrum of Death and Destruction System?
When they were re-released it was in fairly limited quantities.

I haven't heard any of the post-Mike Browning stuff. How is that? Is it like The Key or Thresholds?

heavy metal kid 07-12-2006 07:41 PM

So, have anyone noticed that 3 of the "4 bigs of Tharsh" have this kind of trend which consist in perform their Masterpeice album in one "special night".?

First it was Slayer, then Metallica, and now Anthrax will play the whole Among the Living album.

FatalEnergy 07-12-2006 07:51 PM

I highly doubt Megadeth will play all of Rust In Peace all the way through.

NP: Mayhem - Necrolust (This EP was the only thing good that they ever did, too bad the suck after this)

Apocalyptic Raids 07-12-2006 09:05 PM

De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas owns your soul, Bret :p

The Negation 07-13-2006 05:21 AM

If you havent already heard of Kings Evil, I recommend you listen to them.

AA-12 07-13-2006 05:25 AM

You have such good taste, hahaha. I just saw that you like Aura Noir. Fucking classic.

The Negation 07-13-2006 05:29 AM

Thank you!
I love Kings Evil, they are an immense thrash band.
Absu are also another immense black thrash band

AA-12 07-13-2006 05:31 AM

I used to have Temples of Offal, it was great.

The Negation 07-13-2006 05:33 AM

I havent heard any tracks off that, was that a demo?
I have the Third Storm of Cythraul and a couple of tracks off In the Eyes of Ioldonach [sp?]
Those are pretty good albums.

AA-12 07-13-2006 05:34 AM

Yeah, just 3 tracks. Great though

NP: Taake - Hordaland Doedskvad III

The Negation 07-13-2006 05:39 AM

Hmm i need to look around for that then.
Taake! Nice! Have you heard Nortt?

AA-12 07-13-2006 05:40 AM

It seems super rare. I wish I wouldn't have deleted it :(

Yeah, but only the split with Xasthur. Good band from that.

The Negation 07-13-2006 05:46 AM

You deleted it?! Goddamn!
Slogstorm = mighty good death/thrash

AA-12 07-13-2006 05:48 AM

Heh, yeah. I have a bad habit of doing that :-\

Apocalyptic Raids 07-13-2006 06:21 AM

I used to do that all the time to save hdd space, though it was mostly albums that I owned.

There's still a couple of albums I don't have anymore, though.

Mother 07-13-2006 09:47 AM

The Negation 07-13-2006 12:43 PM

Bazarov 07-13-2006 03:34 PM
HEy guys ... You know that song Darkness Descends By dark angel .... It sounds extremely familiar ... Do any of you know what song it is im talking about.
Yeah, you're talking about that song Darkness Descends by Dark Angel. :p I'm kind of confused as to what you're really trying to say though.

FatalEnergy 07-13-2006 03:45 PM
HEy guys ... You know that song Darkness Descends By dark angel .... It sounds extremely familiar ... Do any of you know what song it is im talking about.
Are you trying to say it sounds like another song?

I think we're all a bit confused here about what you're getting at.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-13-2006 09:34 PM
I have that Oi Crickey album, but I haven't given it a full listen
Yeah, same here.

I got some Chainsaw the other day, reminds me of Bewitched sometimes. It's good stuff.

np: Carcass - Pedigree Butchery "Necroticism - Descanting the Insalubrious"

FatalEnergy 07-13-2006 09:39 PM

Anyone heard of Invocator? Some pretty crazy technical thrash from Denmark.

NP: Invocator - Schismatic Injective Therapy

AA-12 07-13-2006 09:53 PM

Hey Fatal, I need Destruction recommendations. My local record store had some albums and i'm going there tomorrow.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-13-2006 09:58 PM

Live Without Sense, Release From Agony and The Antichrist are what you should get before anything else.

FatalEnergy 07-13-2006 10:16 PM
Hey Fatal, I need Destruction recommendations. My local record store had some albums and i'm going there tomorrow.
Well. there isn't a bad one, but some are considerably weaker than others. It also matters what you want to hear.

Early Destruction

Sentence of Death EP/Infernal Overkill (1984/1985) - The production is pretty bad, but the songs are classic old school thrash. Not very technical, but pretty damn evil. My only complaint with it is it's a bit too repetitive. Great album.

Mad Butcher EP/Eternal Devestation (1987/1986) - It's weird how they put the EP before on here instead of after, because it came a year later. Eternal Devestation is more classic evil thrash. This was the first Destruction album I got, and I'd say it's the best one to start off with. The Mad Butcher EP is where they started getting more technical, and the solos are pretty mind blowing. Also Schmier's vocals get better in my opinion.

Release From Agony (1988) - My favorite Destruction album. Really technical, but not quite as evil. The riffs are pretty brutal. Schmier's vocals are killer. The production is a little thin, but the riffs more than make up for it.

Live Without Sense (1988/1989) - Great Live album of old stuff. Destruction is most definatley a live band, and this is a great way to hear a bunch of songs off the first three albums. The production is pretty good, so the riffs seem twice as vicious on it.

Cracked Brain (1990) - The style is similar to Release From Agony, but they seem to be a little more relaxed with it and the production is much better. Lots and lots of great riffs, but this was recorded after Schmier was kicked out so his vocals aren't on it, but Andre does a great job.

New Destruction

All Hell Breaks Loose (2000) - Awesome album. Lots of great riffs, great production and everything. I personally think Schmier sounds his all time best on this album. The first 2/3 of this album is absolutley KILLER, but the last few songs won't keep your attention.

The Antichrist (2001) - Probably the best out of their new stuff. Everything is pretty much a classic on here. Really brutal.

Metal Discharge (2003) - This isn't a bad album, but it's pretty bland. There's only about 4 songs that are raging. The rest won't really keep your attention though, and there's not quite as many riffs.

Inventor of Evil (2005) - Suffers from the same problem as Metal Disharge, except mabye a little more so.

There you go. Take your pick. :thumb:

Apocalyptic Raids 07-13-2006 10:24 PM

Live Without Sense is definitely the best of the old Destruction. The production really limits my enjoyment of the albums before RFA.

FatalEnergy 07-13-2006 10:28 PM

The production on Eternal Devestation isn't too bad, although sometimes the guitar seems way too fuzzy, but it definatley fucking blows on Infernal Overkill

AA-12 07-13-2006 10:51 PM

Thanks man.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-13-2006 11:38 PM
The production on Eternal Devestation isn't too bad, although sometimes the guitar seems way too fuzzy, but it definatley ****ing blows on Infernal Overkill
ED still sounds way too thin. The Live Without Sense and Alive Devastation versions of those songs are far superior.

FatalEnergy 07-14-2006 12:08 AM

If you want to really talk about horrible production listen to Obsessed by Cruelty again. I've haven't listened to it in forever. The drums overpower everything.

NP: Sodom - Equinox

Apocalyptic Raids 07-14-2006 12:11 AM

I haven't heard Obsessed By Cruelty yet.

Though it doesn't sound too good from what I've read.
