Cuff the Duke. An awesome alt-country band, definately worth checking out - each song is pretty distinct and different from one another.

Tangy zizzle 04-26-2006 01:45 AM

I'd love to meet Nachoin person. Really I would.

Still diggin' on Faux Pas. It's clever music.

Also been on a big Weezer trip lately.

That new band with the dork from blink is on tv right now. The single sounds like U2 listening to like Saves the Day or something. Terrible.
The new Streets album is pretty good, not as good as his previous albums, but still good.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that it's really good. I've only listened once, but I feel like I like it better than the first one. I think the second one is a masterpiece, but in terms of which record is more enjoyable, I think it might even be the new one.

ATM 04-26-2006 10:27 AM

I just got Ill Communication by the Beasties for a dollar yesterday, so I be diggin' that junt.

YDload 04-26-2006 12:12 PM

Listened to a buncha Weezer last night, but I think chronological order would have been better :-/

Also I keep forgetting how bad my computer's speakers are so I had to listen to Pixies with headphones on to even remember that there is a bass player there.

It most certainly is enjoyable. I don't think it will have as much lasting enjoyability (is that a word?) as the first two albums though.

I was gonna post my last fm list but it seems to represent the artists I've listened to about 2 days before it's generated which is weird so I'm not going to post it.
Over the last few days I've listened to tons of music (mainly on the way to see my girlfriend)

Big L - Lifestyles Ov Da Poor & Dangerous
The Bees - Sunshine Hit Me (why I criminally ignored this album in my collection for this long I will never know)
Scarface - The Diary
The National - Alligator
My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge (feel free to laugh)
Funeral For A Friend - Seven Ways To Scream Your Name

Elliot Smith - Rose Parade
Coldplay - The Scientist/A Rush Of Blood To The Head

Those are all songs, btw.

BillCosby 04-26-2006 05:35 PM

Ted Leo - Shake the Sheets

Yeah.

Happymeal 04-26-2006 05:35 PM

Today I checked out 65daysofstatic and Project Polaroid's s/t (one of Kool Keith's most recent releases). Both are very solid.
That new band with the dork from blink is on tv right now. The single sounds like U2 listening to like Saves the Day or something. Terrible.
I'd think it would be the other way around.

Zebra 04-26-2006 06:49 PM

Brian Eno
Moby
Yo La Tengo

Little Man being Erased 04-26-2006 07:34 PM

Speaking of Prince, I heard his new album the other night and, surprisingly, enjoyed it immensely.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Abbatoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus (the best Nick Cave album I've heard)
Eskimo Joe - A Song is a City

go aussie go

Little Man being Erased 04-26-2006 11:34 PM

Queens of the Stone Age - Lullabies to Paralyze
Hot Snakes - Automatic Midnight
Talking Heads - The Name of this Band is Talking Heads

Zmev 04-27-2006 01:06 AM

The Replacements - Let it Be

YDload 04-27-2006 01:19 AM

A band from Minneapolis came to our school to play. Their name is Radio ON and they were pretty good. I guess you could call em "bar rock," you know just a lot of crowd pleasing songs. I talked to them after the show about other bands from Minnesota and the first one they mentioned was The Replacements

Zmev 04-27-2006 02:15 AM

 Tight.

Nomeansno - Wrong

Damn, its like a great album night or something.

ATM 04-27-2006 06:51 AM

I'm heavily diggin' all the hip hop from the mailing list. Especially Mr Lif.

pixiesfanyo 04-27-2006 07:30 AM

Another Green World needs a flaw.

Bukowski 04-27-2006 07:37 AM

Sonic Youth - EVOL
Velvet Underground - VU&N
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - From Her to Eternity

I Was A Kaleidoscope 04-27-2006 07:40 AM

Peeping Tom - Peeping Tom

Mike Patton's new poppy/hip-hoppy album...it's good. I was shocked when I heard Norah Jones say things like 'keep it in your pants' and 'mother****er' on it. The collaboration with Massive Attack is a standout.

br3ad_man 04-27-2006 07:44 AM

A teacher at my school likes Refused. That's pretty cool. Other than Refused I've just been listening to The Winnie Coopers.

god is such a strong word 04-27-2006 09:02 AM

lately i've been listening to obscure and overlooked genres like mathrock, artrock, shoegazing and crazy japenese rock

Zmev 04-27-2006 01:21 PM

You registered to say that?

Morphine - Yes

Little Man being Erased 04-27-2006 02:30 PM

The Bonus Disc that comes with Elvis Costello's This Year's Model. Pretty good stuff on there. And it ends with the fucking fantastic "Stranger in the House."

Sounds "tangy."

Ornery Cephalopod 04-27-2006 03:10 PM

-The Decemberists - The Tain EP

Although it technically really just one 20 minute song, I definitely dig this more than the full albums. I've been constantly returning to it here and there since I got it.

-Peeping Tom - s/t

Now that I've spent some time with it, I'm diggin' it more than I was at first. 'Tis nice.

Super Furry Animals - Mwng

I played one of the pretty ballad-y songs from it for my less music-savy pals, just the get a laugh with the Welshnesosity, and it made me wanna dig the full album again for the first time in a little while. Dig.

Zappa 04-27-2006 03:11 PM

Swell Maps - Jane from Occupied Europe

Little Man being Erased 04-27-2006 03:21 PM

Zebra 04-27-2006 06:43 PM

That wins the prize for being the worst album that Jesus Lizard has ever made.

Boards of Canada - Music has the Right to Children

I love Telephasic Workshop and Roygbiv.

Little Man being Erased 04-27-2006 07:25 PM
Ted Leo & the Pharmacists - Hearts of Oak
that's what i like to hear

I'm digging Gnarls Barkley. "Smiley Faces" is probably my favorite.

ATM 04-27-2006 07:51 PM

I need to cop that Peeping Tom

Anyway, I really like Mr Lif right now, as well as The Wedding Present, with a little Bad Brains thrown on top.

And of course MF Doom, hence the avatar.
