I think Process of Belief is one the best "comeback" albums ever recorded. Regardless of genre.
|
Bad Religion is horrible. I hate his voice.

OMG I'm lisening 2 them rite now. lets have kids. |
Tom Waits - Nighthawks At the Diner
Tom Waits - Closing Time Nighthawks has some pretty cool stuff. |
Yeah I dislike his voice too. Oh, and their music.
They're just so generic. I hate to get on a rant here, but that's why I barely listen to any modern punk these days. Syd Barrett - The Madcap Laughs. I recommend this to any Pink Floyd fan. |
It can't be underrated if the band is basically unheard of. They're a good group, but I find just slightly, slightly trying too hard to be angular and obtuse.
They're kinda like a more out-there version of DLJ. |
Yeah I'd go with underappreciated.
|
Panda Park is okay, and I'd somewhat agree, it's at least overlooked.
|
Joy Division - Closer
The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground and Nico |
I bought Substance by Joy Division today. I was going to get another Sonic Youth album, but this was cheaper.
|
Mitch Hedberg - Mitch All Together
|
I'm checking out The National and The Silver Jews now...I really like what I've heard of the latter.
Also: My Bloody Valentine - Loveless Motorpsycho - Timothy's Monster Dead Moon - In The Graveyard Cocteau Twins - Treasure Calexico/Iron & Wine - In The Reigns Timesbold - Eye Eye Especially the Timesbold album is really recommended, if you like good american music. A stunning album. |
Been listening to a lot of Camper Van Beethoven, mainly Our Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart. "She Divines Water" is such a gorgeous song.
Oh, and my last.fm thing seems to have gone retardual. It's listed my top artists of the week as Wang Chung and Barry Manilow. And while I have nothing but respect for those guys, I'm pretty sure that I haven't been listening to them. |

The Can Kickers (folk-punk)
Captain Chaos (folk-punk) Gogol Bordello (gypsy-punk)
They're just so generic. I hate to get on a rant here, but that's why I barely listen to any modern punk these days.
The albums Suffer and No Control broke the mold. When you're saying they're generic you mean that virtually every other generic punk band out there copied their sound or the sound of someone who copied them. But they haven't made good music for a good few years now. |

Tangerine Dream - "Phaedra"
What a track. My goodness. |
Streetlight Manifesto - Everything Goes Numb. My favorite album right now.
Hey Zappa, did you ever hear that album....I think it was John Coltrane and Thelonious Monk at Carnegie Hall? Live jazz album from the '50s or '60s that I've been digging lately. Since you're our resident jazz fiend, I figured you'd heard of it. |

Really good, isn't it?
It's soooo good. I heard it playing in A & B Sound a while ago and my mom bought it and....yeah, it's good. |
