1. I barely listen to deathcore
2. "scene" lyrics? lol sick criticism.
3. Yeah my lyricism is vague cool.

None of that makes me dumb, you're just being pretentious js.

witchxrapist 11-09-2010 12:36 AM

Like what the fuck are scene lyrics?

Also, a lot of my stuff recently has been very straight forward kthxbai.

Adolf Neudecker 11-09-2010 12:37 AM

/is glad he pretty much stopped listening to metal

Anglachel 11-09-2010 12:37 AM

but it isnt all xstraightxforwardx yet thats the problem here dad

witchxrapist 11-09-2010 12:39 AM

Okay I lied I still listen to Despised Icon and Embrace The End pretty often.

kitsch 11-09-2010 12:39 AM

orchid is the best example of scene lyrics, they spawned a bunch of imitators that have been increasingly worse and worse

i love orchid but im glad i cant understand their lyrics for the most part, aside from a few songs

adb 11-09-2010 12:41 AM

I leave for 15 min and this forum still reeks of mappy bawwwing

realtalk - he's the biggest problem on this forum, ruins way more threads than I do

witchxrapist 11-09-2010 12:42 AM

Orchid isn't even scene, uhh....

And their lyrics aren't even vague dude. Wow.

Yo critique Normalcy and Hypocrite and Prima Donna, please tell me how vague and scene those are. <3

kitsch 11-09-2010 12:44 AM

yes
and
yes

dont narrowly define scene as bands that have merch at hot topic

ok so tell me what this means

You say you miss those days
But we did it right
Quit the habit started smoking again
I was crying you where laughing
Hit in the face
Blood on the snow
We were never happier

witchxrapist 11-09-2010 12:46 AM

That's really obviously a love song, and Orchid wasn't a scene band sorry.

On and off relationship son.

So you're calling me an idiot... while calling things that have nothing to do with scene kids scene, and calling obvious lyrics vague. Really?

point specifically to lines in the song that illuminate this meaning

orchid were the band that the scene ripped off in style and in lyrics all the way man

Anglachel 11-09-2010 12:49 AM

naw dude scene bands dont sing about Nietzsche

swaginator 11-09-2010 12:50 AM

s&l is down there

any anti-white blood cell lyrics there?

witchxrapist 11-09-2010 12:52 AM

You say you miss those days
But we did it right

one party misses the relationship, but he feels it's best they're apart

Quit the habit started smoking again

quit the habit - breaking up, smoking again - getting back together

I was crying you where laughing

elaboration on why he feels its better for them to be apart

Hit in the face
Blood on the snow

metaphor for the tumultuous relationship

We were never happier

this line is either sarcastic of whimsical, never quite sure here

witchxrapist 11-09-2010 12:52 AM
orchid were the band that the scene ripped off in style and in lyrics all the way man
Um, yeah no.

kitsch 11-09-2010 12:54 AM

why is smoking a metaphor for the off and on relationship?

why is hit in the face and blood on the snow a metaphor for a tumultuous relationship when the song is titled epilogue to a car crash?

why would he think it better for them to be apart if he is the one crying?

witchxrapist 11-09-2010 12:57 AM
why is smoking a metaphor for the off and on relationship?
He's comparing an on and off relationship to an addiction that's hard to get over.
why is hit in the face and blood on the snow a metaphor for a tumultuous relationship when the song is titled epilogue to a car crash?
Who knows, their titles rarely make sense. Look at Destination: Blood!
why would he think it better for them to be apart if he is the one crying?
She was laughing while he was crying, that line seems like he realized he was getting fucked with, which would explain why he's glad that it's over.

whiteminority 11-09-2010 01:24 AM

orchid is hardly scene by any means. the band i would say that was ripped off the most by "the scene" would be the locust. the fashion that justin pearson inspired is what you see modern day "emo" and "scene" kids jocking and his sassiness is something that orchid could never compare. you're looking at scene from a completely wrong angle kitsch.

also there's nothing wrong with referencing nietzche since he's an actual philosopher with thoughts that have an applicable meaning to today's society, sorry that it's not more mindless random bullshit that is supposedly metaphorical but really doesn't mean a damn thing.

Tyler 11-09-2010 01:25 AM

Nietzche was basically just spewing mindless ideas resulting from him being totally bat-shit out of his mind. They just happened to be really quotable for those who use live journal.

whiteminority 11-09-2010 01:28 AM

Nietzche wasn't out of his mind until the last 15 years of his life which encompasses a very small proportion of his written work, also at that point his sister was publishing/editing most of his work so that can't be really be considered part of his philosophy in general.

adb 11-09-2010 01:31 AM

dont give a fuck bout mods

witchxrapist 11-09-2010 01:36 AM

Thank you Ben for knowing what's up. Also seriously, Orchid's lyrics are only vague in rare cases, and that's basically if you don't get the references.

Anyway, what's up people?
