hammet_ownz 02-23-2005 02:36 AM

too frigging right we do man

i get beaten at school cos i admitted i like tallica

Josh 02-23-2005 02:40 AM

thats tough. anyway, whats the general thoughts on load / reload? IMO they are average albums, not as strong as the self-titled but way better than st. anger.
whats your thoughts?

(i have kill 'em all, ride the lightning, ...and justice for all (pirate), master of puppets (pirate), metallica, load, reload)

EDIT:forgot i have s&m (pirate)

limac25 02-23-2005 02:41 AM

So its a type of music. Also who do u think does the best metallica covers? eg, Dream Theater, Dark Angel, Motor head, Life After Death, Death Angel, Flotsam & Jetsam etc. Who?

Josh 02-23-2005 02:47 AM

the motorhead cover of enter sandman is good, IMO better than the original.

hammet_ownz 02-23-2005 03:00 AM

dream theaters master of puppets live in barcelona was off the hook

limac25 02-23-2005 03:56 AM

Anyone heard : Metallica, The Ultimate Tribute Album. Its got a few good bands and artists covering their songs.
Song list includes:
Motor Head - Whiplash
Flotsam & Jetsam - Damage Inc
Joey Vera (Anthrax Bassist), Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme Guitarist, i think), Scott Travis (Judas Preist Drummer), Tommy Victor (Prong Guitarist/Vocals)
Trapped Under Ice - Death Angel
Nothing Else Matters - Bob Kulick (Dont know where from, something to do with KISS i think), Bruce Kulick ( same deal as bob), Gregg Bissonette (Think he's a solo artist), Joe Lynn Turner (Singer for Yngwie i think and in Deep Purple perhaps. Fell free to correct me im not totally sure), Tony Franklin (Fretless bass player not sure who with tho, solo maybe)
Motorbreath - Blasko (dont know), Page Hamilton (dont know), Ryan Yerdon (dont know), Scott Ian (Anthrax Guitarist)
Holier Than Thou - Alex Skolnick (Testament Guitarist), Chuck Billy (Testament, Rampage Vocalist), Doug Aldrich (Solo Artist and others i think), Eric Singer (Badlands, KISS, Black Sabbath Drummer), Marco Mendoza (With various artists, too many to name. Bassist)
Eye of the Beholder - Life After Death
Creeping Death - Dark Angel

Glad i got all that off. Well thats for anyone whos vaguely interested in this album. Probably not very well known because it only came out in nov last year. If any of you have soulseek add me - limac25 i have this album and all other metallica albums so yeh.

Nah I'm Australian too, it was a joke like the whole "You've got internet in Australia now?!". Heh.

And man, physically or verbally? If it's physical should get some people to kick some ***. :D

And I prefer St. Anger to Load/ReLoad.

Chu 02-23-2005 05:47 AM

It wasn't my first.
And I'll admit it, I hated it initially.
But after listenning to it alot, it's not that bad.
Sure it could have been better, but I'm thankful for what they released, personally a Load type album would have ruined it for me.

No, he just knew that he couldn't argue with Lars because Lars wont let it go no matter how wrong he is.

CreepingDeath~ 02-23-2005 02:56 PM
No, he just knew that he couldn't argue with Lars because Lars wont let it go no matter how wrong he is.
Yeah that was pretty stupid what lars said... he didn't want them because it wasn't a "trend" any more..... wtf?

willis2441 02-23-2005 02:58 PM

to all you people out there who like to listen to music while yer online i recommend putin in a juke box player so you can just copy your fav songs from your fav cds and put them in your library and just play whatever you have,i just recently did this, its free and its great, the one i have is musicmatch but you could put in windows juke box or somethin diffrent, but i really recommend this!

CreepingDeath~ 02-23-2005 03:00 PM

If you people set such a score by solos then go and listen to a band that do solos and quit complaining that Metallica don't.

_xxBLACKENEDxx_ 02-23-2005 03:14 PM
i live in rockford Illinois they play the unforgiven like its no tomorow
No way man i live in Peoria, and i am always in rockford.

Mister_Che 02-23-2005 03:26 PM
man now there is absoloutely no way i will get that album if it has no solos.
So you base music off solos? You're missing out on alot of good stuff then, solos enhance a song, yes, but it doesnt necesarily make it a goodsong.

btoto 02-23-2005 03:28 PM
is cliff playin bass in that pic?
Yeah, that's Cliff

And the guitar player is I guess the guy from Metal Church

BTW, solos are the little thingies that make your balls dance

Thor 02-23-2005 03:38 PM

Has anyone heard the Pantera cover of Seek and Destroy? I listened to it yesterday and thought that it was pretty sweet. Jason Newstead was in it too.

Joe 02-23-2005 03:52 PM
No, he just knew that he couldn't argue with Lars because Lars wont let it go no matter how wrong he is.
Lars, for some unknown reason, was PMSing along with James for a couple of months. Why they had solos for 20 years and then stopped? I don't know. All I remember is that St Anger was pretty awesome live. The cd is really full of great riffs, it's just that there aren't any solos.

Sounds like it would be amazing. I refuse to listen to any Sum 41 covers of Metallica, just because I don't wanna hear if they ruined it. Now Pantera is a true metal band, so I think theirs would be better
