MOst cell phones have like editors to create music, although if it's a monophonic cellphone it will sound crappy.

Anyhow, most modern cell phones have infrared ports to trade info with say, lap tops capable for such tasks and you can create midi's using programs like Huitar Pro, then load them into your cell phone and Presto! you get a ringtone. Sony Ericsson's and Nokia's have the best user interfaces.

I've just creamed my pants! I missed out on them last year but this year, I will see them.

Adam Jones is GOD 06-03-2006 04:30 AM

Rock City AGAIN?! Get in!

I'll be going from having to travel to London to see what i though was my only Opeth opportunity, to seeing them close to 5 times. Thank you Opeth :)

JamJar 06-03-2006 04:34 AM

Last time rock city was an 18+ so I couldn't go. My best bet is probably the Birmingham Academy.

Manchester or Nottingham for me! This will be my first Opeth gig. :o

Edit: Oh, and about Mikael saying he thinks other bands suck... I don't think it's the wisest move on his part, and it sort of puts him down a little in my books. Saying they don't like the music is fine, saying the band sucks though seems childish and much more easily for a band to take personally, especially if they end up in similar circles. I wouldn't want to meet up with a band who I said sucked in an interview. If i'd said I didn't like their music much, however, I wouldn't mind meeting them as people.

Having said that, I don't really care, he's allowed an opinion and he's allowed to express it. No need for anyone to get worked up over a musician expressing themselves.

Clunge 06-03-2006 06:58 AM

Man, seeing them in a university sized venue is gonna be great.

Also means I am now gonna be seeing Opeth and Porcupine Tree in 1000 max sized venues

JamJar 06-03-2006 06:59 AM

Where/when are you seeing Porcupine Tree? I would love to see them.

Jude 06-03-2006 08:43 AM

Opeth aren't touring America again anytime soon, are they?

You going to the Manchester one? She informs me she'd rather go see them than Opeth.

Still hoping to get her to go to both tho.

Stoo 06-03-2006 09:06 AM

By the time November comes, that will be my 3rd time seeing them.

Moses 06-03-2006 09:22 AM

I hope they go on a U.S. tour again soon.

Yup, I'm going to the Manch one.

Then Opeth in November.

My Autumn/Winter ftw.

Moses 06-03-2006 09:26 AM

It's times like this where I wish I lived in Europe.

Stoo 06-03-2006 09:26 AM

I bought my ticket just there.

I've never listened to Porcupine Tree... they're touring... Should I go anyway?

Moses 06-03-2006 09:31 AM

I went on an Opeth marathon last night. I listened to 4 albums in a row.

Stormrider 06-03-2006 09:37 AM
I went on an Opeth marathon last night. I listened to 4 albums in a row.
Which 4 ?

Moses 06-03-2006 09:39 AM

Hmmm... Orchid, Blackwater Park, Ghost Reveries, and Damnation.

Stoo 06-03-2006 09:46 AM

One of these days I'll do that with all 8.

Moses 06-03-2006 09:48 AM

I know, I would but I don't have that kind of time. That'd be about 8 hours of my life enjoyed but simply gone.

azbassman 06-03-2006 09:50 AM
One of these days I'll do that with all 8.
I only have 7 but should do that. I still need Ghost Reveries.

Stoo 06-03-2006 09:55 AM

Moses, what were you doing while listening to 4?

EDIT: Jesus, Moses, You sure do know how to bump threads.

NP Demon of the Fall

Hadn't listened to Opeth in a while...well other then Still Life, which I listened to last weekend :p

JamJar 06-03-2006 10:51 AM

I listened to Still Life yesterday while on a car journey in a dark. It was fantastic.

I'm OBSESSED with When at the moment!

Shadius 06-03-2006 12:59 PM

When is a great song.

I've listened to nothing but Opeth in a day before probably a few months ago.. never all the albums in a row though.

I'd probably get sick of Opeth and want to listen to something else. It's possible i'll do it someday tho, maybe before I go see them.

 I'm obsessed with The Hearse in general atm. I don't think that will pass either.

N.P. When ~ Opeth

''When can I take you from this place...?''

JamJar 06-03-2006 03:02 PM

I love playing When. The riffs are so fun. It is one of Opeth's most emotional songs imo. MAYH is my favourite Opeth album, it's so good.

One of a Kind 06-03-2006 03:07 PM

I love Opeth. I saw them live in Edmonton, Alberta back on July 28th, 2005. They were ****ing awesome.

I'm not much of a lover of Ghost Reveries and Damnation, but I have every other album they have out and I have a Blackwater Park t-shirt.

Akerfeldt is so hilarious live. His voice is so monotone. hahaha

I'll drunk to that. :chug: The drums on that album are so technical, I have yet to hear an album with such emotion plus they only had 3 members when they recorded it. Akerfeldt, Lindgren, and Lopez.

Refl 06-03-2006 03:29 PM

Lol 2 Brum Opeth gigs in a year.
Score.

Hey I was there. :D I saw them again March 8th at Reds. :thumb:

Stormrider 06-03-2006 04:39 PM

MAYH was 6 $ less then usual last time I went to my local HMV. Even at thast price, I didn't have enough.

TojesDolan 06-03-2006 04:39 PM

yep MAYH is an excellent album. And when I listened to it fully I realized Martin Lopez copied a lot of drum beats and rhythms and used them in later songs.

Like... OK there's the a rhythm in "the Amen Corner", I believe, and it's used in the first heavy riff of "the Moor" and the the second heavy riff in "Wreath". Yeah awkwardness, indeed.

Crysiss 06-03-2006 04:41 PM

Ill have to listen for that. Wtf is that in your avatar?

You're not a big tool fan I presume. It's from the video of Parabola.

Captain Quentin 06-03-2006 11:28 PM

can anyone reccomend an album or songs that will help me get into opeth? ive got most of their albums but it just hasn't clicked with me yet

Shattered_Future 06-03-2006 11:30 PM

Bleak or The Leper Affinity worked rather well for me. For cleaner stuff, Hope Leaves or Windowpane.
