Great song

That smilie made me think of Lemmy, but that'd be more like >:-''|

Bazarov 06-25-2006 01:28 AM

Just got that IM, thanks Jono. I would have replied but I was at a show, and obviously, I forgot to turn AIM off.

JMetallica 06-26-2006 03:41 AM

Hey guys, what's up?

Long time, no talk eh? Oh well some stuff is going on in Real Life for me at the moment that has brought me back here with a few questions.

Firstly, are any Australians going to any Kreator shows? A mate and i figure we're going to tour around with them- so if anyone is going, pop a reply back here and we'll meet up or whatever.

Secondly, does Thrash Master27 still post here at all? I'm moving down to Melbourne from sydney in a few weeks, and was just wondering if he was still about.

last of all. Is anyone else from melbourne? Are there any good rock clubs or pubs down there that people such as ourselves frequent?

Cheers dudes!

(yeah, what else is up?)

Apocalyptic Raids 06-26-2006 03:45 AM

hey man!

I'll hopefully be making it to the Kreator show in Sydney, if I can get the money.

Andy (ThrashMaster) doesn't really post anymore, but I have his msn if you like.

JMetallica 06-26-2006 04:20 AM

Cheers dude. And come to the Kreator gig... it's only $44 + BF. Cheap as chips for a ****in awesome international band.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-26-2006 04:23 AM

yeah I definitely want to go.

.:Thrasher:. 06-26-2006 04:29 AM

Possessed-Seven Churches. Thrash?Death? or both? sorry im just a bit confused because im listening to it ATM and trying to work out what it is.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-26-2006 04:31 AM

Both, I guess.

total classic

.:Thrasher:. 06-26-2006 04:38 AM
Both, I guess.

True

just a few more question: anyone listen to coroner? Is Destructions best album Mad Butcher? And whats Sodom best album?

German Thrash 3=Awsome

Apocalyptic Raids 06-26-2006 04:40 AM

Coroner are awesome, Punishment For Decadence is fantastic.

My favourite Destruction is Release From Agony, but Mad Butcher is great.

Sodom's best is Agent Orange.

JMetallica 06-26-2006 04:46 AM

I've been listening to Seven Churches for a week straight-I can't get enough of it. I'd say 2 parts death, 1 part thrash. Think to yourself: what other thrash albums have you heard that sound like that? Listen to some suffocation. Fundamentally, they sound A LOT like 7 churches, only more brutal. Although, possessed never did blast beats (thank god). Oh yeah. The last song gives the mystery away. ;)

If you want to hear what possessed would sound like if they played thrash, listen to their second album.

Now compare the two. :)

lol thanks Apocalyptic Raids & JMetallica

Apocalyptic Raids 06-26-2006 04:51 AM

:thumb:

I mean listen to Seven Churches and then Like An Everflowing Stream.

sometimes I think the only thing that stops people flat-out calling it DM is the fact that it isn't downtuned, which kinda makes it sound more Thrash than Death.

I'd agree with all of that, although destructions best is probably their live album. They're a funny band actually. They had a lot of good songs, but to me no album really grabbed me on the whole. Get their live album though, Live Without Sense. It's got most of their classics on it, and no filler at all. It's awesome.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-26-2006 04:53 AM

ah yeah, Live Without Sense is awesome. Curse The Gods \m/

The production really let's down the early Destruction material.

JMetallica 06-26-2006 04:57 AM

Yeah dude, that's the thing. They didn't really have a good production until all hell breaks loose. :/

Apocalyptic Raids 06-26-2006 05:00 AM

Yeah. Release From Agony sounded better... but still rather thin :(

That's why The Antichrist is probably my favourite behind RFA and Live Without Sense.

Riva 06-26-2006 05:03 AM

Agent Orange is class.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-26-2006 05:05 AM

Indeed it is.

way better than that Persecution Mania business.

although Nuclear Winter is probably the best Sodom song >_>

JMetallica 06-26-2006 06:03 AM

Holy crap!

I just found the most kvlt video i've ever seen.

haha the sound goes off from one of the guitars when that guy stage dives.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-26-2006 07:10 AM

haha, yeah.

great video, great song.

Riva 06-27-2006 05:45 AM

I love it when the stage hands push all those divers off.

FatalEnergy 06-27-2006 08:32 PM

Thread name change, eh? About time. An almost 4 year old thread isn't so new.

I saw Destruction, and met Schmier. It was the highlight of my existance

Apocalyptic Raids 06-27-2006 08:34 PM

hahaha, nice.

Curse The Gods \m/

That's awesome man. I'm jealous.

FatalEnergy 06-28-2006 02:24 AM

For only 40 minutes, it was a killer setlist.

What I remember is.

Soul Collector
Nailed to the Cross
Mad Butcher
Thrash Til' Death
Release From Agony
Unconcious Ruins
Antichrist
Curse the Gods
Bestial Invasion
Total Desaster
The Butcher Strikes Back

Schmier's a totally awesome dude. Not stuck up whatsoever (too bad I can't say the same for Mille). He signed my backpatch and I talked to him for a while. Mike's hella funny and Marc just seems to constantly just want a beer. Really cool dudes. I got a Destruction skull shirt that says Thrash Til Death on the back and an Infernal Overkill shirt. Schmier said they'd come back in 2007 and play for 2 hours. Can't wait for that.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-28-2006 02:27 AM

Two tracks from Release From Agony, that's pretty damn sweet.

Eternal Ban would have been nice, though.

UNITED WE STAND, ETERNAL BAN \m/

FatalEnergy 06-28-2006 04:35 AM

Yeah, I was totally blown away by Unconcious Ruins, That's my favorite song on RFA, and it comes of 676708560856754794 times better live. Eternal Ban would have neen nice, so would Life Without Sense, but that's a 7 minute long song.

NP: Skid Row - Slave to the Grind

Apocalyptic Raids 06-28-2006 04:44 AM

glam \m/

:D

Nepenthe 06-28-2006 12:48 PM

Skid Row is probably the only glammy band I can listen to. Especially that song.

FatalEnergy 06-28-2006 08:04 PM

I like quite a bit of glam :o

I'm a huge WASP fan. Dokken is pretty awesome and so is Motley Crue's first two albums. Twisted Sister has some cool stuff, and Ratt has a few decent songs.

Nepenthe 06-28-2006 08:08 PM

Ah, I wasn't even thinking of WASP. I do enjoy them. Dokken, Motley Crue, and Twisted Sister...yuck. As for Ratt, though, I'll agree, they have a few decent ones.

I'm reading the Motley Autobiography atm actually.

WASP is the only glam I enjoy anymore.

Stoic 06-29-2006 04:12 AM

So, today I discovered the glory of Morbid Saint. Jesus fucking christ they're so fucking metal!

Apocalyptic Raids 06-29-2006 07:12 AM

Morbid Saint are good. I haven't listened to them for a long time, actually.
The Dirt?
