I finally picked up The Number of the Beast. For the last few days I've been trying to learn 3 finger bass technique.
its part of derek rigg's signiture. Every albumm cover has the reaper and the cat with the halo on it.
I don't see either on self titled, nothb, ssoass, or pom. Where are they on those albums and the other ones I didn't mention?

Lord Abortion 12-02-2005 03:35 PM
Okay I missed alot of stuff I guess. I will stay out of it.

One of my teachers at my old school said that there is a 666 on every Maiden album cover.
doesnt have to be rotam, really doesnt take too long to learn a maiden song.
Also your guitarist is just scared becasue its his first gig. Dont blame him, everyone is like that.

So very true.

Right now i really wish they had made another album with blaze. BY virtualx1 blaze had become a more confident singer and more enrgetic on stage. A third album really would have been great....

i guess it was just never mean't to be.

Blaze should do another live album and feature some more maiden songs dammit!

It cast him in a positive light.

Blaze's vocals are about pure emotion, not the singing acrobatics of Bruce.

Yep, very very gay.

Josh 12-04-2005 03:04 PM

on the Blaze / Bruce thing, if anyone else gets the PM mailing list they may have noticed that the singer (IMO) for Metal Church sounds like Blaze and Bruce. and Cradle to Grave's intro riff is very like 2 minutes to midnight's.

my friends girlfriend went to one of his drum clinics and said he was a retard good thing i didn't believe her

Trev 12-05-2005 12:50 PM

Thats how I met him, and absolutely not. That man is a bloody comedy genious, was a brilliant night. I got my Eddie bass drum head signed by him, I've already posted the pictures in this thread somewhere.

blackthorne 12-05-2005 12:55 PM

wow i would love to go to a clinic with him !! hes a legend oh and what does he have agains't double bass drums

Trev 12-05-2005 01:03 PM

He considers them too complicated and 'undrummerish'. But blimey, his right foot is amazing, he doesn't even need a double bass pedal. The first song he played (along with a guitarist and bassist from the We Will Rock You show thing), was Led Zeppelin - Moby Dick, and he gives Bonham a bloody run for his money.

crag 12-05-2005 02:00 PM

i don't play drums but i would definateatily go to one of his clinics:)

Josh 12-05-2005 02:04 PM
i don't play drums but i would definateatily go to one of his clinics:)
he recommends that people who don't play drums go, as it's not just about the drumming but the whole thing of it being a fairly intimate session.

crag 12-05-2005 02:53 PM

i just saw an advert about an album called 'Greatest Rock Riffs' or something like that and it had Run To The Hills in it. I don't know whether to be happy or sad:confused:

for some reason, according to last.fm that's my favourite song.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_maiden

read the last bit especially.

EDIT: i just noticed they call Children of Bodom Melodic Death Metal in that article, then in the Bodom article they call them a PM / melo-death hybrid.

Deth 12-05-2005 07:03 PM

Better than Guitar World calling CoB a Black Metal band.
