Yeah my guy can play Master of puppets, we can play that song and he can play the fast solo in one, thats about it, hes really talented hes just to intimidated to learn any solos.
I started feb of last year so i kinda suck haha i can play the rhythm parts to all of metallicas songs though so if he learns the solos they really arent a problem. And our drummer has been playing 8 years, and hes 15 so hes sweet too, and our bass player can play most bass things cause bass is easy (most of it).
 For a challege that u could pose to your lead, tell him to play the solo to Fight fire w/ fire (I'm still working on that) or u both could do the duel leads on RTL |
how long u been playin? how old are u?
I'm 19 and I've been playing for almost 3 years. (I practice everyday for 3+ hours, I need a social life  ) |

They are both amazingly fun. The best part about playing ktulu is after u switch to distortion and u play the clean parts palm muted. sounds sooooo aweomse. |
well i like the guys, they've been good friends. i've been tryin for a long time to find a band and we all finally got together and we've put together some good music. i'm trying to add a bit of a metal hard rock spin on some music while the others are doing that, a little bit of punk, and a little bit of ska.
it's actually pretty good, i think. i'd rather have more metal tho
Yeah I think it's good to play around with more then one genre in a band, but if you really like metalical yet they won't play any of metallica songs when u probably play the songs they like, it's kinda unfair.... but if you have fun doing it and you make good music then that's all that matters :thumb: |

Well (a little selfless promotion not spam) I do have a thread on here called Heavy Metal Guitar that u could look up. I also have a college professor that kicks @$$ on guitar and shows me cool s*** all the time. (Like insane sweep taps that I'll probably never get down.) Maybe you could enroll at Musicians Institutes GIT program (I hear that EVH did) |
I've never really been a fan of punk music, but there are a couple bands that I do
like. (Ramones for one.) |
Hello? Where's everyone at?
|
I jam with a few guys from my school but we can never find a friggin base. there are way too many guitarists.

I know exactly what u mean. I was just inches from starting a band w/ some friends that i jam w/ but come to find out they all suck at the instrument that they claim to play and could only play guitar (not very well at that). |
ill play, just find a way to get me to wherever u are every now and and again im in aus hehe
no guitarist here can play anything cept enter bloody sandman knobs |
I jam with a few guys from my school but we can never find a friggin base. there are way too many guitarists.
I know.. same with me...I am a drummer and it is so hard to find a bass player to play with. It is so annoying because usually if some one wants to play an instrument, they usually go to guitar... ( at least the people I know do)..
There is one "bassist" I can think of that I know well, but he has never played a bass before:rolleyes: ... he just has a guitar, and (hopefully) he is going to buy a bass. |

Every night (mon-fri) at midnight they play a block(3-4) songs from Metallica. They started doing it back in 1998 and still do it every night here in Dayton,Oh. |

We never have much good stuff on the radio, except for classic rock some weeknights. They do over-play Enter Sandman though. |

They usually play pre-black album material to which is a huge plus :thumb: |
not around here. if theres one metallica song you hear on the radio its enter sandman, which is why i just stick to the cd player.
|
they used to have mandatory metallica here in New Zealand but the c*nts took it off
|
well when it's not mandatory metallica it isn't much better here either. I usually here either Enter Sandman, or, for some reason, King Nothing........?
|
Here in Dayton,Oh they play "Fade to Black" alot and "Enter Sandman"
|
Ya Fade to Black and the Unforgiven get some airtime every now and then but those 4 are basically the meat of the metallica here.
|
planet rock in tas plays bloody fuel every night 8-)
actually come to think of it i have heard the unnamed feeling a few times lol, ive got crap all chance of hearing any good tallica on the radio, they are all convinced that rock music is simple plan and good charlotte |

in the UK you dont get much metallica on regular radio, you get a bit on digital radio. on kerrang! tv they play enter sandman, i disappear, nothing else matters, one. on other channels they still play st. anger and until it sleeps. |
