Surprised no one said anything like "LOL WHITEBELT" even though they didn't know what that meant before I started saying it.

Txus 12-29-2009 10:26 AM

Yeah, you are the ****ing messiah.

RetiredAt21 12-29-2009 10:42 AM

I'm the whitebelt messiah, yesh.

Txus 12-29-2009 10:45 AM

I wouldn't be proud of that

RetiredAt21 12-29-2009 10:47 AM

There are good whitebelt bands, idk why yalls can't come to grips with it.

Txus 12-29-2009 10:51 AM

I like a couple of bands (The Sawtooth Grin, As the Sun Sets, The Great Redneck Hope) but I can't listen to them that much tbh.

Jaundice 12-29-2009 12:27 PM

White belt ain't bad but at the same time I'm just as happy without it. I like Sawtooth Grin, but Daughters, Me and Him Call it Us, Ed gein and As the Sun Sets are all kind of interchangeable and boring for me.

Like I said, none of those bands are bad, but I'm just fine without them

nevertoolate 12-29-2009 04:01 PM

Destroyer Destroyer and See You Next Tuesday worth a mention too

Those three ****ing rule, do you ever listen to Robinson? They're seriously so ****ing relentless.

Also, Tower of Rome/Gun Kata split is still my favorite thing ever.

Gun Kata has some of the coolest rhythms I've ever heard, I mean, ADB's probably heard more complex, but u no.

RetiredAt21 12-29-2009 05:10 PM

Yeah Robinson rules pretty hard.

Pete 12-29-2009 05:12 PM

i just hate how i can't find anything as good as The Sawtooth Grin when it comes to whitebelt, sort of how Khayembii Communique ruined emo for me and Indecision ruined metalcore for me.

then again, i could just listen to those three bands on repeat :>

Jaundice 12-29-2009 05:13 PM

Yeah Severed Heads ruined industrial for me.

Txus 12-29-2009 05:22 PM

Juaundice ruined the internet for me.

Jaundice 12-29-2009 05:25 PM

why you always hatin bro

i try so hard to be respectable and positive

Txus 12-29-2009 05:28 PM

because of the 10/10 thing

its so stupid brah

i <3 you though

Jaundice 12-29-2009 05:30 PM

i <3 you too

idk, rating things on a scale of 1-10 has always been awkward for me because of my fear of 10 and my insistence on breaking off into demicals

Txus 12-29-2009 05:35 PM

Our vision on many things are so ****ing different man

it would be fun to talk to you in real life

Jaundice 12-29-2009 05:42 PM

yeah **** would be crazy, we could talk about intellectual issues and hedonism and stuff

idk i have a feeling we could reach a common ground on at least one thing

Txus 12-29-2009 05:49 PM

Oh, of course, we both love surrealism I guess that's something :p

and sorry mappy i forgot about answering your thing:

First of all Gun Kata have a ****ing sweet name, I still have to listen to that split even though I dont like ToR at all. Robinson are good too but I just can't listen to that stuff all the time. I think the only whitebelt band I could listen to every week is As the Sun Sets.

Moon Flavor 12-29-2009 06:10 PM

I used to hate Gun Kata but I've warmed up to them quite a bit.

Never heard Robinson, kinda afraid I'll hate it but I'll see

witchxrapist 12-29-2009 06:28 PM

They're just really dirty and fast paced sounding.

@Mike, well As The Sun Sets is obviously the God Tier choice.

As for Gun Kata, they're the only band that fits the tech-grind description most kids use for whitebelt stuff.

They're ridiculously tight, and some of their riffs sound kind of like Trap Them. Their vocals are ill (more hardcore-y, less shriek-y)

Top 10 ways to stagedive

10 Traditional jump
09 Jump off holding hands with someone
08 Jump off the speakers
07 Running start into a jumping off the kick drum, meanwhile pissing off the drummer
06 Like a European -- wait five minutes on stage trying to get people to catch you before you slowly 'fall' lightly into the crowd like a schmuck
05 Jump off like a wastoid and trip before you leave the stage
04 Bump into the band members, unplug the guitarists pedals, knock over the mic stand than jump off
03 Headwalk
02 Attempt to jump off but have a head on collision with another stage-diver
01 Jump around on stage than dive into no one catching you, wearing a Gumby suit, while holding a beer

RetiredAt21 12-30-2009 08:35 AM

Just because members of As the Sun Sets formed Daughters doesn't mean AtSS are a whitebelt band lol.
