What albums has Blaze on vocals?

vashts80 08-28-2005 02:30 AM

X-Factor and Virtual XI

sunsinger 08-28-2005 02:35 AM

Critics hate those albums (especially Kerrang). There were some good songs: Sign of The Cross, Lord of The Flies, Futureal, The Clansman and Man on The Edge was pretty good.

vashts80 08-28-2005 02:36 AM

The critics are wrong then. I haven't listened to X-Factor in awhile but Virtual XI is amazing.
Bruce > Blaze > Paul

gg. No need for explanation, Blaze was a much better vocalist for what Steve wrote in that period.
Paul>Bruce>Blaze

:)

ashman 08-28-2005 06:35 AM
Where'd you download Rock am Ring from? I've been looking for recent maiden live performances for ages now.
I got it over Bitcomet, I could upload the torrent for you if you want...

Erg...I got a 2mb line and it's gonna take me nearly two hours!

I already downloaded some vids for it and one of them involved this guy filming his pen0r during the Death before Dishounour rant. There was me and my two mates trying to figure out what this weird shape was and then the camera zoomed out, I never hit the delete button so fast before in my life...

sunsinger 08-28-2005 10:33 AM

He (the filmer) said that he was trying to hide the camera from security.

Lord Abortion 08-28-2005 12:17 PM

Right...I promised a review of Maiden...well here you go...

The set remained the same as had been played during this tour
Ides of March
Murders in the rue Morgue
another life
prowler
the trooper
remember tomorrow
where eagles dare
run to the hills
revelations
wrathchild
die with your boots on
phantom of the opera
the number of the beast
hallowed be thy name
iron maiden
................
running free
drifter
sanctuary

my position was dead level with Bruce's rightmost ramp. I started off in the second row and remained there up until phantom of the opera, where I got pushed back a bit
Maiden were absolutely incredible...there's no other word to describe it, there were "Sharon Osbourne is a wanker" chants coming from us in the crowd, along of course with the obligatory maiden ones... there was plenty of singalong, in songs such as run to the hills and running free especially, Bruce was on magnificent form, rarely standing still, he raced round the ramps to give the crowd alot of face time. During Where eagles dare, which was note perfect and a highlight especially the "Broadsword calling Danny Boy" intro tape...that song may have been my personal highlight, along with the manically fast another life and the amazing Hallowed be thy name, murders in the rue morgue, remember tomorrow, and the surprisingly great Drifter.
The crowd for the most part sang along to it all, such a great performance from maiden, and the greatness of Janick's epic fight with Eddie...I also missed one of Nicko's sticks by a few feet...

Bruce Quotes:
"whilst playing his guitar with my microphone, in a moment of Spinal tap-ism, I appear to have broken Janick's guitar string, there will be a break of a few hours because no heavy metal guitarist as you all know in the history of time has ever been able to string his own guitar..."

"Is it tuned?...do we care?"

you at the back there at the soft drinks stand...I want to see your Fucking hands in the air!"

(on remember Tomorrow)"this song was my audition for the band, and Iv'e been shitting myself every time we play it in case if I mess it up I get the sack"

(after coming back out for the encore) "Don't give me that... you know we're going to bloody well come back out anyway"

"he hides behind a lot of wood... so to speak...Mr Nicko McBrain!"

I may remember more later...during his mention of any other business to bring the crowd up to date... he said "anything else?" I shouted "Sharon Osbourne is a cunt...which got a few more people chanting the earlier chant... Bruce laughed and said nothing...

best song has to be where eagles dare...that was bloody incredible, hm... revelations too...wonderful singalong there...

i missed Janick fighting Eddie :upset: i couldn't see that side of the stage brilliantly, as i was in the 2nd row just off to right of the stage (as you face it).

other Bruce quote:

"you at the back there, by the Chinese food van, i wanna see your hands. what? you're still alive?
whatever you do, don't eat that stuff!!!"

Lord Abortion 08-28-2005 01:09 PM

that was cool, but possibly slightly racist?
I don't think it was meant like that though...

Josh 08-28-2005 01:11 PM

i think it was meant more as a food poisoning warning.

did you see the last Eddie playing air guitar?

Lord Abortion 08-28-2005 01:13 PM

Josh 08-28-2005 01:26 PM

the whole thing was just awesome, and i went a total of 41 hours without sleep, including 4 hours at work. when i have cash i'll get my photos developed, put on disc as well, and uploaded. i might be able to get them done on monday, if i get paid.

Lord Abortion 08-28-2005 02:02 PM

so...that job as testicle inspector working out for you?

NOFX were surprisingly good - random quote:
"so, who believes in god? come on, some of you must."
/some of crowd cheer.
"well, you're all wrong. the only god is Iron Maiden!"
Iggy & the Stooges were pretty good, and i was surprised by how good a live act Marilyn Manson was. unfortunately i saw some of FFAF's set, which kind of spoilt the day. we had pizza then :)

-The Frank 08-29-2005 06:01 AM
