i like purify i think it has some pretty cool riffs in it

Huber 01-12-2005 12:27 PM

SKOM is most definetly the best song on St. Anger.

Justice4all 01-12-2005 01:17 PM

St.anger's music was not up to metallica's standards. But the sound was raw and it was a metallica experimentation album. SKOM is a good song, along with the kick *** riff for sweet amber. Just hope their new album has better lyrics then st.anger! But whatever they do, they still kick ***!

My metallica gig was at Download 2004. I was disappointed that lars was missing, but metallica with dave lombardo and joey jordison still put on a hell of a show with some last minute jamming and no pyros! Show metallica has still got it!

Then you most definitely never listened to the rest of the album ! Try at least(if you hate St.Anger and Frantic):

1. Invisible Kid
2. Unnamed Feeling

And Dirty Window is probably the best thing on the album

iamkirk 01-12-2005 02:14 PM

I'm not a fan of St Anger, but personally I think Metallica were trying to dive into the mainstream nu-metal and do a proper job of it as a way to say, F you, which obviously worked as I'm sure tallica picked up a whole load of new skool fans on the way. And I would rather listen to St Anger than any other nu-metal album...I think they did what they set out to do..

Old skool fans frown upon it and tallica haters just use it as an excuse to diss them :P

But for me like so many people have said, 1 more elite thrash metal album, and I as a fan would want them to call it a day.

Flame_drummer 01-12-2005 03:15 PM

Long live Metallica, Nothing else matters!!!(lol)
I've got into metallica for several years now and they are without a shadow of a doubt a legendary band!

Just wanted to know which metallica album is your favourite and your favourite fast and slow song?

My fav album is: Master of Puppets
Fav slow song: Fade to Black
Fav song: Seek and Destroy or Battery

By the way, any predictions on how their new album would sound like?
fav album--Master of Puppets
fav slow song--tie btw unforgiven and fade to black
fav song--Disposable Heroes

Leper 01-12-2005 03:41 PM

Personally i dont think Metallica is capable of writing and composing another ELITE thrash metal album. They can still perform the classics (anyone who saw them recently on tour knows that) but i really dont think they can put a collection of new material together that any of us, even them, would call elite thrash metal. Like i said before i hope we hear more ballads on the new album, and if they do try something really heavy or thrashy, i hope to god its actually well-produced this time.

I wish people would quit complaing about st. anger, I mean. They recorded it like right after they had been apart for a year. And those lyrics were things James came up with in rehab, so of course they will be different. And it was Bob Rock's idea to not produce the cd. They will make up for it.

Rasta Rocker 01-12-2005 04:29 PM

I don't know man, IMO Black Album was the beginning of the thrash downfall for them, and that was over a decade ago

JACKROXYOU 01-12-2005 04:40 PM

yea and if you havent got over it yet shame on you

just go to their shows and listen to the 80's albums and you will live

stop the blubberin

Burdcheese 01-12-2005 04:50 PM

I like it a lot.

In fact I like all the songs on Garage Inc disc 1 a lot. Less so disc 2 - especially the motorhead stuff which is really underproduced (but it was recorded live afaik)

give a wolf a home 01-12-2005 05:09 PM

Metallica know how to make mainstream cracking, slick rock tunes, they've done it a million times, they could have done it for St.Anger, it would have been a smart career move but they didn't.
I think a few years down the line people will think that although St.Anger wasn't the best, in perspective it showed a band still willing to experiment and take risks, I mean no solos, snare drum, or production is hardly the sign of a band clutching to a winning formula to make some denero is it?

btoto 01-12-2005 05:09 PM

I like whole Garage Inc and especially:

1. Whiskey In The Jar
2. Breadfan
3. Loverman

And So What is so funny......Jaymz singing : I even suck the old man's c0ck. haha :p
