What I've been told by business people I know through family is that a degree is a representation of some modicum of devotion. All it shows is that you have the willingness to stick by something, see it through to the end. Dunno if that's how all business folk see it.
I'm reading a really good book on Robert Crumb.

He's a character. I've meant to find the documentary about him, never got around to it.

Bartender 04-27-2005 04:54 PM

I saw it in a boxed set kind of thing with American Splendour (which is a good film, if you haven't seen it) on DVD.

Robert Crumb 04-27-2005 05:02 PM

American Splendor is fanastic. I like Giamatti. Ghost World is another good one in a similar vein, directed by the same guy who does the Crumb documentary. Plus it has Scarlett Johanssen.

I've seen the documentary a couple places but usually when I'm going to buy something else. Then I forget.

Little Man being Erased 04-27-2005 05:07 PM

Giamatti is the tops. It's sad to see him in that huge hollywood blockbutser that I can't remember the name of now. Sideways is the best film I've seen in the last year.

...and don't get me started on Scarlett.

So, I just got blown off by my girlfriend for this guy named "calculus" again. I swear, I am going to beat that guy up.

I'm really bored...

I'm really enjoying it, he's got a lot of interesting things to say.

For anyone that cares:

I'm putting together a hip-hop mixtape for the thread.

Hey, I used to know that guy quite well. Not so much anymore.

Luxor 04-27-2005 06:14 PM

I hate him.

Little Man being Erased 04-27-2005 06:16 PM

When I knew him I kinda liked him. But now, I don't think I could deal with some of his bullshit.

ATM 04-27-2005 06:17 PM

Meh, same thing different subject.

So its raining outside, today has sucked so far, I have to give my speach for being class president in a little over an hour (would any of you honestly vote for me?) and I cannot wait until tomorrow at 3.

IHeartDisco 04-28-2005 11:26 AM

So anyways, I met the candidates for the seat in which my college is situated, for the General Election. They came to our college and took questions. It was very interesting seeing their views on such issues as:

Top-up fees
The war in Iraq
Immigration & Asylum

They took questions for an hour + and I have to say the Green Party candidate impressed me the most. The Labour candidate did not know her stuff to well and was very quie and withheld throughout. David Willets (Conservative and probabale winner of this seat) was very good I thought, but I disagree with most of his views and the Lib Dem candidate was laughable, he could only rant and had little knowledge and tried to digress away fom what was being asked. Wish i could vote next week but Im 18 in July dammiT!

Quick question for anyone; do you ever return CDs to the store you bought them from, if you were (badly) disappointed in them?

Deathapalooza04 04-28-2005 04:27 PM

I don't think the people at my CD store would give me a refund or exchange. They are not that cool. I sent a CD back to the record company once because it was so terrible. They didn't give me anything back. :(
