Neoteric 01-27-2008 01:21 PM

my city just had a complete blackout for an hour there. people's homes have electricity now but the street lights are still out.

Bukowski 01-27-2008 01:28 PM

there was a blackout in Coatbridge (lol) on Friday all through the day as well. My friend had a party, about 15 people in his flat sitting around with only candles and torches for light. It was pretty weird. The lights came on at about half 2 in the morning though, so we finally got some muzik and decent lightsources and whatnot.

Neoteric 01-27-2008 01:30 PM

i was just sitting on my computer and then suddenly it was pitch dark.

i just had something to eat, listened to Spiderland and then the lights came back on.

F you!

so anyone who's checked out Mark Prindle's review/interview site (markprindle.com) knows that he reviews a lot of 80s-90s alt. rock albums that you and i are so fond of. but apparently he also likes Minus the Bear? thats hilarious, i think he's copying off of me. or maybe i'm him? no i havent seen The Jesus Lizard live, so its definitely not me :(

but he also thinks that Menos El Oso is their best album, and he has a great way of explaining the remix album:
Member Of Minus The Bear: "Hay, I have a great idea!"

Other Members Of Minus The Bear: "What is it?"

Member Of Minus The Bear: "Let's take our best album yet, and hand the master tapes over to a bunch of no-talent assholes so they can replace the fast driving beats and haunting guitar interplay with a tape of a guy rubbing his dick on a synthesizer!"

Other Members Of Minus The Bear: "I like it!"
Must have freaked you out a little. It would certainly freak me out. But blackouts are still pretty cool. Good fun if you have a candle. bumpy if you havent.

dei 01-27-2008 06:19 PM

I had the lights go out on me while cooking eggs. It was bad.

perriwinkle 01-27-2008 06:23 PM

did the eggs finish cooking? thatd suck if you never got to eat the eggs

Interstate 01-27-2008 07:00 PM

It's my 21st birthday today. Had all my family round yesterday and got all my presents early. Got £350 cash, private number plate for my car, dvds, gift vouchers and some other stuff, so I'm well pleased. Gonna start buying some collectable comics with some of the cash and save the rest.

sgrevs 01-27-2008 07:02 PM

Nice one, happy birthday. What does the number plate say? Please don't let it be something totally lame like hXcbro.

Thanks. I was going to meet up with friends the other night to celebrate but they are all studying. Overall it's been pretty good though. The number plate is N88 MJE - the N is in memory of my father who died two years ago, the number is random and last 3 characters are my initials.

Apocalyptic Raids 01-27-2008 07:27 PM

happy birthday dude.

dei 01-27-2008 07:35 PM

Happy 21st birthday.

samariah 01-27-2008 07:39 PM

did you ever finish the eggs i want to know

dei 01-27-2008 07:40 PM

Yes. They were tasty.

Happymeal 01-27-2008 07:46 PM

Happy birthday, Interstate. Some extra cash is always a good haul.

samariah 01-27-2008 07:59 PM

good

Glitterati 01-27-2008 08:00 PM

Don't go spending it all on moon pies and penny whistles!

samariah 01-27-2008 08:05 PM

that would be an excessive amount of moon pies and penny whistles

Anxious 01-27-2008 08:06 PM

Spy a nickel in the snow

don't just spend it on a picture show

put it in your cap. put it in your cap.

samariah 01-27-2008 08:12 PM

im feeling restless. should i go get coffee or tea or something. i kind of want to read but idk. i should study but its not looking too appealing at the moment

dei 01-27-2008 08:15 PM

Drink some tea.

samariah 01-27-2008 08:17 PM

yeah i kind of dont really like coffee anyway.

dei 01-27-2008 08:21 PM

I can't understand why anyone would drink coffee. It doesn't taste very good.

Anxious 01-27-2008 08:30 PM

Thats because you're raised on Maxwell House and Starbucks.

Bordello 01-27-2008 08:34 PM
Drink some tea.
i agree with dei for once

Zmev 01-27-2008 08:39 PM

Ok so my Shakespeare teacher assigned us to read one of his plays. Thats fine, but its not in the ****ing textbook she told us to buy. Goddamn puppet teachers selling out whatever the school wants them to.

samariah 01-27-2008 08:48 PM

idk i only like drinking coffee black, i kind of like the bitterness but it makes me too jittery.

Liebensaft 01-27-2008 08:52 PM

I'm not crazy about coffee, but I forced myself to try liking it recently, since there's a quaint little gun club/breakfast place in my town. They have the best deal, seriously. 2 bucks gets you 2 eggs, 2 pieces of toast, and either homefries (chunky potatoes) or hashbrown (the shredded one), and all the coffee you can drink. 2 bucks. I know, tell me about it, so awesome. I go about three times a week. There's nothing else in my town.

samariah 01-27-2008 08:54 PM

i see your from pa no wonder lol

perriwinkle 01-27-2008 09:01 PM

coffee sucks

but i dont even want to talk about coffee

so like seriously where did my avatar go??

dei 01-27-2008 09:34 PM

It died.

perriwinkle 01-27-2008 09:38 PM

:upset:

Robert Crumb 01-27-2008 09:38 PM

I took it behind the shed and did unspeakable things to it.

Robert Crumb 01-27-2008 09:39 PM

I like this avatar because the smiling comic book lesbian diffuses all the things I say.

Bukowski 01-27-2008 09:47 PM

Coffee is probably my favourite drink after plain old milk.

bring me coffee or tea.

dei 01-27-2008 09:49 PM

Milk. :(
