thats because my nickname on irc... and in cs... and on everything else I used to use was Jay leno...

this name is a typo of JayLeno that some guy typed in a message to me... and it stuck with me...

ScorpSath 10-08-2004 11:09 PM

tell me about it...

Left Shoe 10-09-2004 07:44 AM

it has its ups and downs just during the day, like right now here its 10 am and there is like no one on, but in about 8 hours there will be loads.

ShelBel 10-09-2004 08:38 AM

I think its partially due to school being back in session as well.

How is everyone today? The good news- despite a no-show soprano soloist (due to strep) and somewhat dodgy memorization of French and Italian, the opera ensemble show went really well. We made over $4000 for our chorale. :thumb: The bad news- my choir director had one of her episodes at about 1:30am, while she and I were alone in her house. Not fun. (She's got MS, and I think between stress, exhaustion, and alcohol, her system just couldn't take any more.) I did finally make it home and into bed at 3am- and had to be at work at 630am.

*yawn*

*drinks more coffee*

And on a totally unrelated topic... I'm listening to the Killers and I gotta say, I'm kinda diggin' them.

gaslight 10-09-2004 09:48 AM

Back.

I made $10 tonight.

e p 10-09-2004 10:14 AM

Morning all.

Listening to S.C.I.E.N.C.E. It's an interesting way to wake up.

What's up with everyone/

Left Shoe 10-09-2004 10:16 AM

try leaving a cd on repeat shuffle all night when you fall asleep , interesting dreams come with lateralus.

Mogwai = excellent sleep music.

e p 10-09-2004 10:21 AM

Interesting suggestion Lefty. I'm sure if I listened to a Tool song such as Prison Sex or Hooker w/ a Penis I will be having very frightening dreams.

And gaslight, I've never heard of Mogwai. How are they?

gaslight 10-09-2004 10:24 AM

Mogwai are a Scottish post-rock band, really laid back, spacey, chilled out music that has some sad flavour to it but is generally very awesome.

If you want to download some songs;

Dial: Revenge
You Don't Know Jesus
2 Rights Make 1 Wrong
Cody

I love them and own all their CD's. (To my knowledge.)

Spaceman Spiff 10-09-2004 10:24 AM

i like falling asleep while listening to stand-up comedy.
stuff like George Carlin, Bill Hicks, Jerry Seinfeld, Henry Rollins, Chris Rock.

by the way,
Rodney Dangerfield R.I.P.

e p 10-09-2004 10:25 AM

Sounds pretty cool. Thanks.

When you mentioned them, SIgur Ros came into mind, though I have yet to check them out.

Espbassor 10-09-2004 10:28 AM

AAANNNDDD I'm back, what I miss? :thumb:

gaslight 10-09-2004 10:33 AM

Have a look if you want :). Grab the video clip for "Hunted By A Freak", it's pretty sweet.

Left Shoe 10-09-2004 10:42 AM

good call on the mogwai pretty sweet stuff

ShelBel 10-09-2004 11:16 AM

I'm sitting at work trying to stay awake and listening to Green Day's American Idiot CD. Pretty good stuff- not technically amazing, but catchy and well-executed.

gaslight 10-09-2004 11:20 AM

I was really disappointed by the new Greenday single :(.

It was like, I've waited years to hear from them again and it just seemed like more of the same.

your 2 favorite tracks?
mien are 4 and 11
@gaslight
the rest of the cd is great its worth the money

ShelBel 10-09-2004 11:26 AM

This is my first run through the whole thing, haven't had a chance to get really familiar with it yet. Let me listen through it a few more times and I'll let you know. ;)

@ gaslight: Its Green Day. What were you expecting? It sounds like Green Day! :thumb:

/pwns page 31

Spaceman Spiff 10-09-2004 12:03 PM

i think that American Idiot is better than their last couple of albums for sure.
Jesus Of Suburbia is probably my favorite song on the cd, but Boulevard Of Broken Dreams is also wicked.
overall, it's a pretty good cd.

ShelBel 10-09-2004 12:48 PM

On first listen, I liked it, I just haven't gotten familiar enough with each individual song to make a "favorites" list yet. :D I haven't been a huge Green Day fan; I've liked what I've heard, but I think "Dookie" was the last CD of theirs I actually bought.
